Learn to crochet?

@Anthea M Ross just popped in from the garden for a shower .... I told him you and I are the experts and are making him a thong ... so we'd best get stuck in. ;)

@Anthea M Derek had to help me as I cannot walk in a straight line and stumbling all over the place. The Doctor put me through several tests and I did less well with some. I am to be referred to a neurologist and the blood test taken today may help them decide that it is as a result of taking anti-biotics for three weeks. I finished the last of those tablets today. To think, this time last year I was not on any medication:eek:

I went on the 'Look Good - Feel Better' day. Thoroughly enjoyed the session and now do take more time over my make-up. However..................since all this started my skin has received no skin care at all  apart from soap and water. I am hoping I can get out to have my hair cut soon - well overdue.

Nothing to do with crochet but...........you did ask!!

It's just like the coffee mornings we had when we first started making the poppies - I made some lovely friends :-)

View attachment 218829 Tried my first poppy (got bored with the blanket!). Is this any good @movan @Puddleduck ?
I’m off to my dressmaking class now. Be back later to do some more subject to feedback :D

Love it ... can you point to a pattern please. That is beautiful. I wouldn't know how to make the individual petals by myself.

Sew a button in the middle and it's a black poppy Joy. :)

That poppy is lovely :)

What are you making in the dressmaking class if that isn't a silly question?

I got more of the first wedding quilt done yesterday and hope to do more today. I'm waiting for a new foot (ruler foot) for my sewing machine and will than tackle the straight line quilting.

Ah ah @Janine @snailtrailer @Chrysalis

Do you do a treble four times ...then stitch back down sideways in the last treble and then move on doing four trebles into the next stitch? That sounds like I know what I'm talking about .... I don't. Lol.

@Anthea M. , back home after our trip to the ski slopes. I have a full set of crochet hooks in a purple case , they have your name on them if you wish I can stick them in the post today .x

...and some inspirational pictur

It looks like 6 double trebles (wind your wool twice round your hook and keep pulling through 2 loops at a time) followed by a double crochet?

I'm really kicking myself ... only 3 weks ago I gave to charity the biggest tin box ever filled with buttons, some beautiful, that mum had collected since she was a girl ... thought I would never need them ...

( we may be away from tomorrow but don’t want to say anything in case I jinx it )

Did you find out who owned the cars on your drive?!

Ok Anthea, will pack them up and send them to you this week.

The car was my neighbours and the other belonged to his friend, my miss marple skills made me think he would want to leave early this morning (I am not a member of nmc for nothing).

Anyway at 6.30am our phone rang asking us if we could possibly move our van off our drive so he could get out ......o_O

@movan this is the YouTube tutorial. I had to slow it down!

@Puddleduck I'm making a casual jacket/cardigan thingie from a boiled wool. Trying to make it reversible :wasntme:

We need pictures of the wedding quilt pretty please. I have a double wedding ring planned when I’ve finished the HP & Kaffe Fasset quilts. Unless something else pops into my head before then lol!

What machine are you using for quilting? So far I’ve quilted everything on my Husqvarna but recently invested in a straight stitch Janome. I’m hoping the Janome will free motion as nicely but I know it will sit on my as yet unused quilting frame so must finish a quilt to try it out.
