When I had finished the waistcoat I crochet was not sure what to next that would be useful. In the end decided when we have afternoon siesta in the van when it's cold outside we could do with a couple of blankets the right size so here are the results mine is finished Eddie's needs a few more rows with the instruction no Pink in mine. . Next project grandson would like a double bed cover in Mexican colours of Yellow Black and Orange so the charity shops will be getting hunted for those colours

Their looking great Carol, I love mine for when I’m checking my eyelids for pinholes in the afternoon.

When we're in the van in the evenings I like to put my nightie on and put the duvet round my waist so my legs are warm, then I put a pillow behind my back longways and lean back against the bathroom wall while sitting on the bed and reading, it tucks me round the corner a bit which is nice but I find that my shoulders and tops of arms feel chilly.

I do that as well :) It's also one of the Grandson's favourite places to "hide".

Here is a plug for the UK Handknitting Association (also crochet)

and another spiral Granny Square

All lovely for siestas/ checking for pinholes!

In between Christmas projects I am working on my blanket which I am enjoying as it’s so many different elements. These are my two latest squares.

Lovely !!

Hi all movan is hoping to leave hospital today but it’s getting late so I’m not sure if she will. She sounds a bit better than when she was admitted but is desperate to get home as being hospital is proving stressful due to various incidents that have happened.

I am still finishing my little gifts for my extended family which I am intending to put on each place setting when we meet for our yearly Christmas meal. I need 16 and I finished number 15 last night so just one more to do before the 22nd!

Yesterday I made this, my first female gnome. Does she look okay? I faffed and faffed with the hair.

I am still a bit scared of using my crochet hook , I have a window of opportunity this weekend to watch videos and have a go.

In the meantime I have made this, going to a friends house for a meal tomorrow night , she is very excited as her daughter is expecting a baby in the new year after lots of years of disappointment. Anyway, instead of chocolates I have made her this as I know she doesn’t knit herself.

After much checking, double checking, thinking, comparing I finally managed to sort out exactly what colours to do with my pattern. I didn't like so much cream on it - not a favourite colour of mine and having dogs around made it seem like a bad choice so I went for a grey-blue called FOG as the last colour on all squares and around the edge. Then decided to go with 2 colours on each square with the Fog on the outside, so rounds 1 and 3 will be 1 colour, round 2 the 2nd colour and Fog for round 4. The 2 colours will be whatever I pick out of the bag the only choice being which has 2 rounds.

I did the first square with the hook size recommended - 3, but they say it should be approximately 6.5cm and mine is 6cm so think I'll have to do another square with a size 3.5 hook and measure to see which is better.

Its amazing how it all comes back so easily, probably more so than riding a bike!

Yes it is , it’s a free pattern off Ravelry I saw this small ball of wool this week and wondered if I could make something out of it .
Well it’s one of the prettiest I’ve seen, love the colours. If you can do that I’m sure crochet will be a breeze.

We have decided to do without crackers this year (all that plastic and stuff that ends up in the bin and then who knows where) so I have been experimenting with an alternative that also doubles as a place setting.

I will pop jokes in and a gift for each person that will be drinkable probably ;)

This is my prototype

It is just big enough to fit a miniature in.
