Just made an interesting discovery about the forum.

hahaha, just tried mine, looks like i live in the sea, or maybe the sky, just blue, blue, blue, that'll do for a hermit..

interesting feature though..
I don't get any push pins on your one, just a map of the bottom half of England.

Ooh, never knew that! :Eeek:

We are in Lancing near the Shoreham border, just fields between us and Shoreham & the airport.
Hi Lenny

Know it well.

We lived in Sullington Way, Shoreham & Fourth Avenue, Lancing.

I worked in Dolphin Rd and at Tates on the Upper Shoreham Road.

We now live in the Lincolnshire Fens.

Geoff

Below the Avitar at the side of a post if you click on where they live it opens google maps in a new tab with the area.
Just clicked on yours and it shows my house .

Thought you where taking the pass, but looked and there it was.
Just looked at mine and pretty accurate 🥺

Looks very nice, maybe adjust your location description if you’d rather it wasn’t so close.

can you do that?? I've just been looking, wouldn't be surprised if I've missed it though:rolleyes::giggle: and slightly off topic (sorry Lenny) what is the Edit Profile Banner, does anyone know ? just seen that when I was looking about changing location

Just go to Account details, scroll down and enter your own location.

Thankyou - my specsavers appointment is obviously overdue!

It doesn't give that much information, if you put a town name in it uses that to put a rough position, for Joy movan her location is "moving around" so it shows removal companies because its looking for "moving" on the map.

Mine showed her as moving around somewhere near Cartagena 👍

If you are fairly accurate with your description and look at location it also shows where you are (blue) and a generic location (red)

Is the location given more accurate for the account holder (blue marker) than it is for the “guest” viewer (red marker)?
Not sure. For a forum Profile I typically use West Berks or, as here, Thatcham.

edit: add marker references 🤪

Just run a little test with an other funster and the red pin in both cases was approx 1km as crows fly from our locations, so not much use for a stalker if any one is worried.☺

Mine was the same, all it said was 'Shropshire' but it came up exactly on our house 🙁
But you have changed it now otherwise I could have checked ;) , as a guest rather than you who might have a google account or whatever make the difference, my location certainly doesn't come up anywhere near our house.

I've just put it back on to see if made a difference if I turned my 'location services' off,it does as it just showed the outline of Shropshire.🤔

You must have given the exact location though surely?
Not that I can recall? In the mornings I often use my phone which has location turned on for use for delivery people .Whether it has picked it up from there?

Yes even when I reverted to 'spain' if you keep zooming in it shows the same.

Interestingly if I click on your 'Spain' that's all I see with no marker at all 👍

I think it was Scotjimland that was putting pins on Google maps, but you obviously told him or put yourself on, ours will hopefully take you to our website for our apartment, we are always surprised the amount of people that find us by looking for a holiday near the beach on Google. 👍 Bob.

Likewise I click on Shropshire under your avatar and I get the whole of Shropshire highlighted by a ref boundary.
