Just booked 20% off P&O North Sea Hull-Rotterdam for less than LeShuttle

So, being hard-nosed, I am warming to re-acquainting myself with Hull-Rotterdam and booking mid-week before 3rd March, 2025 for 1st or 2nd September. (Last time I did that route was by motorcycle mid-Covid in, I think, Autumn 2022.)

My thoughts are now turning to a route down to somewhere around Baden-Baden. On the bike I kept things simple heading on the A15 in the direction of Nijmegen and then down the A73 crossing the border at Venlo and on to the A61 running parallel to the Rhine Valley (and on to an overnight at an Ibis at Karlsruhe).

I might take that route again (and start the holiday proper when I make somewhere around Baden-Baden) but I am wondering about travelling via ring roads around Antwerp and Brussels. Given that my MoHo is Euro 4 are there any LEZ restriction that I am going to encounter on that route?

P.S. The daytime speed restriction on motorways of 100 kph has me wanting to be out of Holland as quickly as possible!!

A quick follow up on this thread. Having firmed up on my plans I have just booked Hull-Rotterdam - out on 01/09 and back on 16/09. Price had gone up something like £20 since I did my maths on all potential routes in January but a quick check revealed that Newhaven-Dieppe had gone up marginally more. More fool me for not booking in January! But a reminder to you that the P&O early booking 20% discount offer that started this thread expires on 3rd March and I could see prices climbing over this weekend hence doing it at this hour!

The reason for this post: FYI I was surprised to be offered the option of paying in full now or a circa 20% deposit with the balance due on 7th July with no cost penalty for the delayed payment. So I took that option. I cannot imagine that is unique to me!

I saw they offered the deposit option just over a year ago, I have never seen it since nor been offered it in subsequent booking enquiries!
It’s still £815 for me in June so I’m out, off down south for a crossing

The option did not present to me until after I had logged on proceeding via my long dormant account. Essentially I had already opted to book unaware that option would be available to me. So it did not induce me into booking.
It must be part of their T & C's somewhere. My guess would be you have to be booking many months in advance to get the benefit. It would be useful to know when it will be triggered.

A small word of caution whilst writing. Their idea of a small motorhome is something under 7 metres and a pygmy 2.4 meters high! I am a "Standard Motorhome" in my 6 meter low profile - height 2.71 metres. The difference in cost on a return booking is only about £20 for me but it might catch out the unwary.

I am uncomfortable with the total cost - paying £90 odd for a two berth cabin each way to be occupied by me alone compared to the modest outlay for Newhaven but I am saving 500 miles of travel and I reckon I will slightly exceed my insurance cap of 4,000 miles on the way back from there after a week in Normandy late Spring just before my current policy expires and I was being quoted something like an extra £100 to take it up to 8 k miles when insuring last year (New policy with no NCB)
So if I had done Hull/Rotterdam/Baden-Baden/Switzerland/Lake Como and back last September I would be comfortably under 4k miles and unworried about a few weekends away locally in the UK whereas I have been guarded about mileage this winter. Hmnn!

I did not receive that option
