It's autumn in Spain, we're on the road again

I think Mazarron had theirs yesterday. I don't know if there are others that were postponed.

We had a warm, sunny day today and we went for a walk. It was good to see that we could have ridden the tracks we walked, so tomorrow we might get a decent ride.

We were around there last month did a few walks from Gebas and the Santuario de Santa Eulalia de Mérida near your old stomping ground if I remember right.

Hi you knowledgeable people and you Martin .
We will be slowly meandering back to Bilbao in about 7 days and settling off from near Torrevieja where we're visiting family. The Google route is indicating Albacete, up the east of Madrid and Burgos. Other than Chinchilla which we stopped at in the autumn, I'm not familiar with the route and looking for some stopover recommendations.
I don't mind deviating a bit but I don't want to go lots of kilometres out of the way. The other option if the forecast is good is to get up north and spend a few days there.

We will be slowly meandering back to Bilbao in about 7 days and settling off from near Torrevieja where we're visiting family. My first thoughts are you have the Don Quixote area, one of our surprising recent finds. Windmills, lakes and some nice motorhome areas (€6.05 for the basic parking fee with add ons for leccy, service point, etc.). Good cycling, but lots on marked trails. Puerto Lapice also has a free parking area and a nice village.

The typical motorhome areas, all built on these lines.

Then there's Segovia. That's worth a visit if you've not been before. It's a long time since we were there so no photos. That's a bit to the west though so if you want to stay east of Madrid you could call off at Buitrago, the area around there is nice.

You've mentioned Burgos. Good for a stop off and then nearer Bilbao is Oña and nearby Frias.

I'll keep thinking. Because we don't use the ferries now, we don't really know much in that area, spending more time really west in Galicia.

Corral Rubio has a nice big very quiet free stop with services, not far from Chinchilla.

I would just add, you have Cuenca a bit on the East. It's a nice area if you haven't visited before.
