It's autumn in Spain, we're on the road again

Solar has been mounted, just waiting for a short cable to join the panels
I also upgraded the mppt to a 100/30 Victron..
So including the freestanding one, we have, 600 w harvesting the best Spanish rays of Golden sunshine..
The roof panels share the 100/30 and the freestanding has it's own mppt 100/20
Just in case you wandered..

Solar harvesting...hazy with thicker low cloud in places...184w... achieved...from 2 x 200w panels....will await a clear sky for a better reading..
Off to the UK on Thursday for a extended visit...back on Monday...😆
A few challenges to overcome...Driving on the wrong side of the road, in a hire car that had the driving position incorrectly mounted.
Language issues. I'm OK with basic English...but I believe other languages are commonly used..
Money...have to remember was a Quid is..
Time difference...one hour upsets my body clock.
Temperature difference.Taking a coat..
Biggest challenge driving in the dark to Alicante airport...

I've just had a videocall with my mum. If that's what's to come over the next few days ......... 🤣

We had a touristic day out yesterday. We took our Dutch friends/neighbours to see the Santuario de Virgen de Esperanza and to try and hunt out some fruit tree blossom.

The Santuario visit was good, the blossom hunting was almost a failure, it's just a week or so too early. We found a couple of flowering terraces.

Lunch afterwards made up for any disappointments though.

Make sure you got waterproofs and warm cloths. 😂

My word..as much as we like traveling being up at this time in the morning..0400hrs...is a bit of a shock.
It's certainly not necessary when we participate in motorhome adventures..but taking The Big Silver Bird (Blue actually) we are using Ryanair to take us back to our motherland....
It's very springlike here in Spain...I wonder what will greet us later this morning...✈️

If I were you, I'd get back in bed and stay there!!!

I'm confused...and cannot understand why so many people jet off or drive to Spain during the winter...It's lovely here in Nottinghamshire...blue sky, spring flowers everywhere, great food...I forgot just how nice it was here..
Just checking the Murcia weather update...would you just believe it...It's raining...
Might even do a little house hunting while we are here....should be able to pick up a small two bedroom semi for £65,000...what's that you are saying? Prices have gone up during the 26 years of our absence...naaaas cannot be, can it...OK...the tablets are starting to work now....🥴

Hi jumar & jumartoo how was the walk on the wild side for a few days 😜. The weather back home is not looking good really, hope all is well for you. 3 weeks for our arrival so🤞🏻 it’s all well then.

Thanks for the video above, very informative. I didn’t know about the extra rules re travel insurance at #5, at 6’ into the video and it has made me think about ours.

I have a permanent travel cover through my previous occupation and whilst I have a policy number, payment, along with all the others, is taken from my pension each month. So if I had to prove at the border I had the cover that may be difficult so I’ll check into that with my providers.

The video didn’t mention the above applying to UK specifically, spoke generally about Americans & Canadians travelling to EU but did say anyone not EU, so not sure if the UK may have an agreement re this aspect.

We had a lovely few, sunny but cold, days in the UK. It was nice to see my mum and other family members.

We complained about the state of the roads and volume of traffic 😂 and ate far too much. We can't wait to get back out in the van and we would be off already if it wasn't so wet. One consolation is that we're going to see some lovely spring flowers again this year.

Outside the next door apartment block to us this morning. Aren't we happy to be inside in the warm and dry? Well yes, but we'll be back out in the motorhome as soon as possible.

The replacement rooflight has made it to Alicante. Martin is planning on collecting it from Murcia tomorrow to save us having to stay home waiting for delivery 🤔😂. More rain expected tomorrow.

Spring flowers will be lovely.

Why not normal?

Too early?

Too late?

Well this morning the government forecast for here (and various others) said 100% rain and storms. The reality is that it's warm and sunny. I'd have been really annoyed if I'd taken notice of the forecast and not done a load of washing. Said washing is now dry, hung out on the lines on the apartment block roof.

We've been down to the coast and had a walk on the prom. Puerto de Mazarron is preparing for carnival and it's quite busy already.

Photos are similar to last time we walked along there 😄 but with less blue in the sky.

We are slightly annoyed that we didn't get out on the bikes. We got mine backfrom the mechanic yesterday and I want to try it out. We're planning on a ride tomorrow now if they've got the forecast right for then. It's forecast to be like its turned out today.

The fundamental errors in that are 1 forecasts be they weather or financial are invariably nonsensical 2 no-one believes governments. :ROFLMAO:

The first bike ride this month. We had to ride on roads and even there we had to ford water and negotiate around some mud.

We don't know when we'll next get out in the van, weather watching is our main interest at the moment.

Oh, and we still haven't got the rooflight. We're hoping to hear something about that tomorrow.

The rooflight was delivered to us (we should have been collecting it). The woman who brought it told Martin it was damaged. It was, and she took it back with her. So, now we wait to see what happens next.

Another plus to all this rain, apart from greenery and flowers, is that the lakes on the golf course are now full. Hopefully the reservoirs are also.
