It’s going to be a bad winter

How are you doing that? What site do you use. I was hoping to make this into a winter project but I don't know where to start?

It's expensive, but start with something like Ancestry.co.uk and work backwards. Easy to get to the 1840's with the Census and Births, Marriages and Deaths. Then it's a hard slog through Parish and other records like Wills and Poor law, Apprenticeships etc.

I got stuck because too many of mine have no records of their Fathers

Cheers

Hollyberry shows not seen since August
Last seen her on the quiz then dryad Toni took over perhaps she has a clue Joy movan

As I read it she had WiFi problems after moving

Just waiting for new Canon R5 mirrorless camera for wildlife photography, guess I will be taking pictures of Blue tits on feeders in my garden 😭

Bank Voles and Mice make good garden subjects too.

Just smiffy are you near Pauline, Hollyberry please? Have you had contact?

I'm getting bit concerned she hasn't been on for a while and she is on her own.

The village she now lives in is notorious for no phone signal and dodgy internet. If any of you have her address, I will happily pop over there and check she is ok. It's only 25-30 minutes drive away from me

That can definitely be considered essential travel as you are in caring mode 😍

Thank you, John. Please give her a virtual hug from me. ..... and take one for yourself. :)

I think I have Pauline's number somewhere, so will phone and ask if she is ok and up to call or anything.... if I can find it.

Thanks all for your offers of support to Pauline... IF she needs it. :)

Hello all. Had lovely long message from Pauline. I think she was happy we were asking after her.

She is doing ok but has got rid of her mh. She had a problem, as all us lone women do :(, getting jobs sorted wen going in her house but a bit more sorted now. I will keep in touch with her.

She asked me to thank those who offered to see her but she is safe and well. :)

Re Hollyberry.. Have I dreamed it? Did Jim say he lets people who are long term members and no longer have motorhomes have some kind of honorary membership. Would this apply to Pauline? (Apologies Jim if I have dreamt it).

Thanks, Toni.

It was lovely to receive her message and know she's ok. Not had a lot of face to face time with her over the years, but really like her.

Hope you are doing ok, sunshine.

Recently I have had access to Ancestry through our county library. I was already signed up to the library as we download Ebooks to read and was told that the library gives online access to a "library" version of Ancestry. This includes Census's, Births Marriages and Deaths, Military Records and Immigration Information. Not sure if this is a national thing or County based only. The library service arranged password for me over the phone during lockdown
