Is my reasoning unreasonable? (consideration of others)

I never close the blinds on my motorhome. To me the whole point of being in one is being able to be close to nature, seeing the sun go down and come up again.

Im on a really busy site (been here over a month, no worries in terms of security, site is well lit, security barriers and all the wardens apparently live on site). But a couple of days ago a couple arrived and seem to like having their hab door light on for no apparent (to me) reason?
Ive never seen one so bright, and its on from around midday right through to the following morning (never with any sign of them being outside to use it).

Its so bright in my bedroom its like sleeping under stadium flood lights.
Yes, i could close the windscreen blinds and re-open them every morning, but why would you put the light on if youre not using it (going outside)?
When i let my dogs out at night, I switch mine on, and turn it off once theyre done, ITS BRIGHT! (I assume) No one else wants to see that.

Im guessing they are here for New Year.
Do I:
A. Introduce myself, have a friendly chat and casually mention how god damn bright their light is at night.
B. Start closing myself in at night by shutting all blinds.
C. Harry Black over their light when they are asleep and claim to know nothing! :D

I am posting in jest, Im sure they are lovely, but if its on for security reasons, god help them if they ever try to go off-grid.

I really think they are not aware, there are many new tuggers and motorhomers out there that I cannot see any reason other than not aware that someone would leave this light on all nite, Iv done it many times 🍷🤷‍♀️🤣🤣

Mine is like a floodlight, I accidentally left it on one night when a friend was sleeping in their car next to us. They didn’t get a wink of sleep. :-(

I was mortified.

You'll be glad of the light when some travelling folk arrive later....!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Elsewhere in Internetworld, perhaps ...

'I need some advice - we're set up on a site, all good except the bloke in the motorhome opposite us never shuts his blinds and we find it quite intimidating, it feels like he's always watching us. I've put our very bright outside light in in the hope he might take the hint and close his blinds, but to no avail. What should we do:
A. Introduce myself, have a friendly chat and casually mention how weird it feels with him watching us all the time.
B. Give in and close our blinds during the evenings.
C. Harry Black over his windows when he's asleep and claim to know nothing'

What’s the matter with just using the high powered air pistol that we all keep in the kitchen draw? ;):xrofl:

Be diplomatic ask if he has a problem with his awning light and would he like a hand sorting it out.

If that doesn't work tell him to turn the flecking thing off.

Must be as bad as some of those Spanish Aires with huge great floodlights.

Thinking outside the box, ask them nicely if they can help you tilt the van over to take advantage of the free lighting all night long !!

Just talk to them for heaven's sake.
not sure youre getting the "in jest" part?
All I had to do was drop the drivers sun visor low enough to stop their light illuminating my bedroom like Blackpool seafront. Sorted.

Maybe the like watching you get undressed at night. It’s not a light it’s a GIANT video lighting camera they use for 24 play back to see what YOU get up to on you vacation times. Haha

Mention it! i have left mine on in past by accident, our blinds are so good it didn’t shine through so didn’t know it was on!

I kind of hoped that was the case the first night (as they had just set up), but then it came on again this morning immediately around 11am. Ah well, as others have said. Apparently its up to me to close the blinds. Really not a 'biggy', but people do baffle me.
Just ask them - and I appreciate you already know the answer in advance because of the switching on and off at certain times of the day - if they realise the light has been left on and be baffled no more. On the assumption the answer is yes you'll probably get the reason for it. At that point you can then decide if it's worth bringing up how disturbing it is in the hope - or expectation depending on what the reason they've told you is - they turn it off or whether it's simply less hassle for the duration of their stay to say no more and shut your blinds til they or you leave.

Maybe there is a fault in their wiring and it comes on with something else and they are unaware

Just ask them if they realise it is on all night and how, with it being so bright, it is disturbing you. It is probably an LED light and they, as you no doubt know, can be very bright.
If they should say no then you will have to pull them down, the blinds I mean.

There would appear to be at least two other options ...

Mention it to the Wardens - it's their job to sort stuff out ...

Ask for a swap of pitches - get all new problems! 😉

" Fight fight fight fight" 🥊:giggle:
Warning, the light might have a PIR, and every time you peek out of the window it sets it off again, the occupants might be getting really tee'd off with it now.
