Is it a 180bhp or a 150 bhp

I may be completely wrong here but aren't those stock images on the fiat website showing the euro 5+, 2.3 and 3ltr engines with the text reworded accordingly for the new euro 6?

Perhaps someone with the old 3ltr engine could confirm whether this matches their layout???

HELLSKI I think you could have just solved the problem, just seen this on ebay,

Any thoughts anyone

@Speve

As I understand it, from your photo I think you’re ok. The engine type no f1agl441b comes up as a Ducato 180 Multijet (290) [2016-...]

What you don’t want is an f1agl441 a or c.....that would be a 150:)

@k1tch your engine code should be on the Fiat data plate.

I suspect the top image might be a euro 5 engine, the graph shows figures for both. I can't be sure but the differences between the euro 6 engines should all be internal though the turbo chargers may look a bit different. I can't imagine the dipstick and oil filters would not be in the same place. The 150 and 180 are the same capacity (2.3) now.

Thanks for that info@jenben I won’t be sending the van back anyway just don’t like to think we were missold. We want to get out and use ASAP.:D:D

as I recall fiat said they were deleting the larger engine and applying 2 different tuning options 150 or 180 on the same engine from the 2018 model year

I have always thought that the date stamp on the tyres would give a date scale of when the motorhome was built.

That makes a lot of sense as ours looks the same as our old 150 thanks(y)(y)

Hi Alan,
It does say on the V5C 130kw, converted on google = 177 bhp, that still doesn't make it look like the 180 in the picture, I thought for the extra £5500 engine and chassis upgrade, I would be able to tell a difference in performance from the 150 that I took on a test drive, I drove my new motor home all weekend 240 miles and could not tell any difference to be honest.

Thanks Andrew , That's what mine looks like but without the dead fly:D
I am seriously beginning to dislike ours as to me its gutless compared to the old 3.0 litre

Well I suppose I need to get a few miles on the clock before commenting but on driving back from Germany it seemed very responsive and as good if not better than the last two 150 engines we have had granted this is the first time we’ve had the auto box and love it.(y)(y)

We seem to have established the engine code for the Euro6 180 hp engine is f1agl441b

What is the engine code for the Euro6 130 hp and 150hp motors? f1agl441a and f1agl441c?

It will only be a chip in the ECU. My Renault Traffic is 125bhp. But the 145bhp is the same engine just different ECU. Remap takes them both to 170bhp
As I understand it (and I can’t remember where I found out) but the new 2.3 litre 180 doesn’t get its extra power from a chip. It’s got a different crankshaft, different pistons, different camshaft, different turbos (is it a twin turbo?)

I would say ask a Fiat Mechanic, but most of them are fitters and wouldn’t know the difference anyway.

Also, the old (Euro 5) 3 litre 180 is a totally different engine and looks different when you open the bonnet. It’s physically much bigger and about 50kg heavier than the 2.3. Handy for a bit of extra weight over the front axle.

FIAT Ducato Engine Codes

Euro 5
130HP, 320nm F1AE3481D
150HP, 350nm F1AE3481E
180HP, 400nm F1CE3481E

Euro 6
150HP, 380nm F1AGL411C
180HP, 400nm F1AGL411B

My (new) 2017 Euro6 180BHP (2.3L) was completely gutless compared with the (new) 2014 Euro5 180BHP (3.0L) for the first few thousand kms..... gradually improved as the engine loosened up with use. By 10,000km it was sparkly. Even the 3.0L engine was improved after running in.
