Hey everyone, we're fairly new to owning a motorhome and our first years insurance is expiring and has gone up considerably . Can we have some recommendations for good/reputable companies please. Last year was Devvits which was through the Caravan and Motorhome Club.

No he said that they only insure for UK use now and I would need to call if I wanted to go abroad. No mention of age and it wouldn’t be a problem just an extra charge But he didn’t know how much. So for me a useless insurance. Without also being rude, best to check your policy Just in case. He also wasn’t phased when I mentioned Morocco but again didn’t know how much.
So possibly a bxxxit effect if you initially insured before then.

With NFU you need to talk to either the Louth or Chichester brance the others don't have a clue.
NFU only cover Croatia 3rd party.

It seems very odd that it is a lottery as to what cover you get from NFU depending on who you speak to. I was speaking to their head office and was told that European cover definitely wasn’t included but Russell's Dad has it included as standard! Maybe when he notifies the weight upgrade it may change but why?
I have spent a day and a half on the phone going through quotes with an amazing variation.
I think I will go with Comfort as they are the best price and just sound more knowledgable. It is a shame that they don’t cover Morocco now though. But there are many other places and we definitely want to go back to Croatia So NFU is out.
Although expensive French insurance is much better. They cover the whole of the European continent and every country that touches the Med.

I think it is the same with most mainland European countries.

With the quotes I have had over the past couple of days, for me Comfort was the best price 4,500 kg A-class Hymer £45k value and it looks reasonably good cover as long as you don't want to go to Morocco. Lenny HB says their claim record for him was good also and he has been with them for many years.

Got 9 quotes over last 24 hours and have to say ..having read this thread I tried Comfort today and they have smashed it out of the park ..not only on price but also on the policy itself.Also it was evident I was talking to a knowledgeable guy who knew about motorhomes ,upgrades toads etc ..it was so easy.

I’m with LV= and my policy renewal went DOWN not up! Also phoned them today to notify change of MH and difference was £20 for the year including £15 admin fee!!! £371 fully comp etc etc. I’m not unhappy with that.

We have an imported 2018 Challenger Vany PVC (LHD) Adrian Flux were about the only ones that would insure it on a chassis number when we imported and I've stuck with them. It's actually with Ageas, AF being the broker. Since then I've compared providers each year and non have come close on price. Some folk have reported they are not so good when you need to claim but I'll cross that bridge if it arises.
