Not at all

Our gardening 'lady' comes in two mornings a week during the summer. The lawns are also cut once a week.

Our son moves in when we're away and looks after the chickens and FANG.
The grandchildren love it - they say it's like having a little holiday.

Works for us

Ours has been incredible but I guess nothing is forever and we just work too much, can't afford a gardener ;)

Above, the bottom of the garden which does not get much sun so keep it as my woodland garden.

A lovely thread @funflair I love looking at gardens and enjoy pottering around in ours, sadly today is very wet here so no good for taking photos so I've found a few, we've tried to make ours easy with not a lot of maintance, it's good because though only small I have different sections which change with the seasons, ive recently done a little Fairy section but will take some of that later.

Cheeky Old Git, here's some more, (photoshopped)

Regardless of which colours are on show this garden looks at it's best when my grand-sprogs are playing in it.

The wooded area is great on a really hot day and so dark that little grows under the canopy.
Log store's are down there as is my purpose built garden fire pit.

This is one of my two inherited grand-sprogs

Oh go on, pictures of the wildlife will do, a week ago we had three Pheasant chick in the garden with Mum but then the b----y cat from down the road came in and they are no more I fear.

Martin
Do slugs, snails and atarlings count as wildlife? We do get a dog fox at night sometimes though.
Spose if I had watered them they would look fine...

Everyone else working and you with your feet up, what are you like

I love to see a well kept garden but I hate gardening with a passion. The knowledge that as soon as you cut the lawn it is already growing again behind your back was enough for me to throw the mower over the wall. So after a month away in the van we came back to a lawn that was about a foot high. On trying to cut it the mower gave up the ghost and expired. Decision made, artificial lawn. Great, just vacuum it twice a year and it always looks perfect plus a few strategically placed artificial hanging baskets and tubs and the garden looks good all year round.

Wow wow wow @Robert Clark what a fantastic place to live. I'm glad I already know you or I'd be curtsying to you . How the other half's live, hey? How can you bear to leave so often? Although I suppose it'll still be there when your travelling days are over. Your two days week lady must be pretty impressive!
