It is sad that someone on here thinks they are being ignored when they are clearly not being ignored. Well not officially anyway

I'm lead to believe it only effects the two people the ignorer and ignored? all others see their posts.......i think.Never understood why people ignore others.
It totally cocks up continuity on threads.
And let’s face it they may have something interesting to say on some subjects, maybe
You are all so much more tolerant than me! Some of you may not be able to reply to this post

Like the one person i ignored cannot see my posts and i cannot see his.
It's their choice but as you say they could be missing out on useful stuff.Never understood why people ignore others.

The actual 'ignoring' does only affect those two but when you see responses by other funsters to the ignoree's posts it seems as if they are talking to themselves ... that's what happened on the Ukraine thread and why she twigged she was being ignored as they didn't make sense.I'm lead to believe it only effects the two people the ignorer and ignored? all others see their posts.......i think.

Agreed ... causes confusion.Yes I see that but if another poster makes reference to an ignored etc the thread becomes disjointed
Who said thatCould I please ask member to double check their 'ignore' settings as my t'other half, a very popular funster, is being ignored by a some members judging by her not being able to see posts (ie gaps in threads) however she's discovered that a couple have done this unintentionally so I suspect she's not the only member who's been ignored accidentally.
If you want to ignore people obviously that is most definitely your right but if not then you could be missing out on some interesting stuff posted by the 'accidentally ignored'!
Therefore please check your ignore settings to ensure they are correct.
You can ignore thread and forum sections and I suspect that's how some people end up putting people on the ignore list accidentally, it's the 'tick' box which may be causing the issue as we are 'trained' to click on it for so much stuff but if you do it when you want to ignore a thread you also ignore the member too!You can ignore threads and - iirc - sub forums.
I’ve a few “show your pet” threads of ignored, for example.
Can't believe how many I had on the list and can't remember adding all except oneYou can ignore thread and forum sections and I suspect that's how some people end up putting people on the ignore list accidentally, it's the 'tick' box which may be causing the issue as we are 'trained' to click on it for so much stuff but if you do it when you want to ignore a thread you also ignore the member too!

Been missing you welcome backI've just checked. One person i have been ignoring for sometime is there.
Is there a method whereas you can see who might be you/me?
The ones on my list never say anything I find useful that’s why they are on my listIt's their choice but as you say they could be missing out on useful stuff.

Generally: But was their post written in a Motorhome advice area where there area of expertise or experience might be useful or informative?I have one person on ignore. Their post was so offensive to me I didn't want to see anything else they might post. I don't want to see their bigoted views or to have anything to do with them. The ignore button is quite useful tool. It protects my sanity.
I am happy to cut my nose off to spite my face. I am happy to skip over stuff I don't like or disagree with, but this caused such offence I didn't want to see any more of his opinions. I am very happy!Generally: But was their post written in a Motorhome advice area where there area of expertise or experience might be useful or informative?
Might be easier to skip past one offensive U Shaped Lounge post than miss posts elsewhere on the whole forum.
I do the same to avoid cluttering up my screen with topics that run and run or appear frequently and in which I have no interest.I’m ignoring, a few people, quiet a few forum sections, and thousands of posts. Life is too short for some of the crap that some people write.
They boasted on the forum “you are ignored” so I did the same.
