Hi :)

I'm thinking of buying a 4L Remoska, to use at home as well as on our travels....but I have some questions;
  1. Can I use a Remoska if we don't have EU?
  2. Is it safe to use a UK model with an EU adaptor? I will use it in the UK but mostly in the EU. I ask this because, as ever, prices in France are ridiculous!!! I could buy a UK version and put an EU plug on it but then I'm left with the question, "Is it safe to use it with an EU plug in a UK adapter?"
  3. Can you use it to steam vegetables?
  4. Can you steam fish in it if you wrap it in foil? Is foil even safe in it? I like to cook fish in foil to retain the moisture content.
  5. Can you cook food from frozen in it? For example, sausages, chicken portions, salmon etc.
  6. Are they really as easy to clean as they reckon? Is it easy to keep it looking almost new?
  7. Is anyone selling a 4L one, please?
Thank you so much if you can answer any of the above :)

You can use on an inverter if you have one and enough batteries and solar.

Yes you can use with a continental adapter.

I would not want to cook from frozen but not my forte really.

We use ours as a slower conventional electric oven.

The heating element (800watts) is in the lid and transfers the heat all through the aluminium pan.

We have steamed fish in both foil and baking paper. (make sure there's some liquid in the bottom of the pan.

Have a look for Remoska recipe books and that will show their versatility.

Use our small Remoska with a plug adapter without issues.

Would think you could cook from frozen just take longer, they are just very basic with an element that heats up to around 180.

Use of foil is fine. Eg when I’m cooking bread in mine I often put a piece of foil over the top of loaf part way through cooking to stop it burning.
I think there is a Remoska thread on here somewhere.

I use mine as a conventional oven. There are lots of recipe ideas on here (just type in Remoska on search) as well as the internet. I actually bought a couple of recipe books to get me started.

Another question now! Would you recommend the 2L or 4L, please? Are they the same diameter but the 4L is deeper? If so, is the extra depth worth it, even though it uses more power, please? Thank you :)

We manage absolutely fine with the smaller / standard size Remoska rated at 400 watts.

We have one in the van and one in the kitchen at home.

There are just 2 of us however. 😊

just have the small one - just the two of us

We also have the small one for the van,and the grand at home. But,the tria came up on offer so we have that as well

Oh no, now I may need two!! :)
Possibly 😃 we use the smaller one in the moho as it's easier to store. Plus SWMBO doesn't use the Tria functions on holiday. The Tria is a beast but great at home. PS make sure you keep the Remoska well away from any plastic surfaces and operate it on good table mats or cork tiles. It gets hot and will damage internal surfaces if too near. Also put the hot lid outside on grass or hard surface to cool down. Not on the awning groundsheet (from bad experience).😭 https://www.lakeland.co.uk/62392/remoska-tria-3-in-1-oven-to-table-electric-cooker

I have both but to be honest the standard is about the right size for two. I use the grand to cook large whole chickens and joints of meat for batch cooking other meals with.

Whaaaaaaaat?? Are you hoping they'll become a collectors item? :roflmto:
They are surprisingly useful especially since we unplugged the oven so now just use a Remoska or occasionally two at the same time, one for the Yorkshire pudding and one for the stuffing. The large one was passed on to us by one of our granddaughters and is used for stews.

If you mean EHU then no unless you have an invertor.
4l one is for families, the smaller one good for 2 people
Use Parchment foil for steaming fish and veggies, doing them in a little butter is yummy, safe and keeps the inside of pan clean 👍🏻
cannot answer EU adaptor q.
Check out Amazon for pricing as Remoska UK sell via them. I had a fault and I got a replacement very easily. They are based in Cheshire.

Just a thought . . . .why would you need to use an EU adaptor plug or swap for an EU plug?
Your house will have UK 3 pin sockets as will your motorhome.

According to my Remoska cookbook you can put the fish directly into it if you make a sauce or paste to go over it or you can put the fish into squares of non stick baking paper or just drizzle the base of the Remoska with oil then add the fish. Most fish recipes take around 15 to 20 minutes (y)

bit messy. If you put the fish in parchment foil, you can place the spuds, veggies etc around the outside of the foil and it all cooks at once, though I would put spuds in before fish as Sea bass (our fave) only takes 7/8 mins in Remoska

I haven't cooked fish in mine yet but thanks for the tip(y)

I have a van purchased direct from Germany so no UK sockets.
Have changed some UK appliances over to a EU plug but not the Remoska.

Good thing about EU plugs is they are smaller than UK ones
