So there's your answer.
Can you tell me how long that is ?I don't think I need string but if JJ is getting some I may need to get some as well(y)

How long do you think it should be?

If it`s for a washing line................. about 30ft...

If that is not long enough ask the nice German camper who I presume your going to tie the other end onto his bike rack....

To move his van nearer to your`s... (y)

.And to all those Funsters that think I don`t do serious.. :moon2:

 :giggler:

Only (certain) Funsters could reduce a serious discussion about the length of string need to be carried in a motorhome to smutty stuff about sex...

The rest of you are displaying enlightening, and creative, and highly amusing answers!

Thank you (all).

JJ

Nobody mentioned sex. It must be your mind

Got a headache Mo ?

It should be twice as long as it would be if it were half the length that it is.(y)

Not a question I have ever had to solve but I shall watch this thread with interest as the solution is sure to be useful at some future point.
Same thoughts here too Philip. I've got rubber bungies, elastic bands, sticky tape (various including double sided), safety pins, and even 2 x suction safety handles in our Hymer (they'll get folks thinking) ....................but not got any string...................yet. ;-)

I wait and wonder at where I have been going wrong for all these years.

Cheers,

Jock.

Look....no matter the length of it: NO WAY for me to be either in front,.... pulling Big Hymer to save you buying some diesel, nor running behind Big Hymer (Blackfoot's way .. very similar to Arabian's one:rolleyes:) so you can always have an eye on me... OK ???? ...MEN .....!:whistle::whistle:

I think I've got it - the definitive answer to the OP. It's...

No hang on a minute, I forgot to carry the 3...

Let me see now.. hmmmm. Divide by Pi...

Take away the square root of the Hymerpoteneuse.....

Correct for wind velocity and ambient temperature...

Got it! The definitive answer to the OP is....

Nah, I'm just stringing you along. :)

I would have thought that it depends on how highly strung you feel at any one time,or the distance between what you don't want to touch and how close you can bring yourself get to it.......Martin.............AS per Jock&Rita

I suggest that you take along lots of short strings which you can then knot together to make the length that you need.;)
