How warm is Spain right now?

Off the ferry at Santander last Wednesday travelled down past Salamanca still showing
-2 on the dashboard then arrived near Caceres and a nice sunny 10 degs. Now at a camperstop in the lovely town of Montanchez warm in sun but a chilly wind. Heading south to Tarifa in a couple of days which is showing 16 Degs next week.

-1 at the excellent aire at Alcalá de Real at 08:00 this morning, though a slightly more clement 0 at the aire at Priego de Córdoba the same time day before. Glad to back home on the coast where it's still forecast to be a chilly 7c on the morning. Forecast seems to say it'll start to get closer to "normal" temperatures, which for us is around 12c at 08:00 from mid week.

I blame it on the millions of tons of water thrown up into the atmosphere by the Tongan volcano. Supposed to affect the climate for the next few years!

We're just up from Valencia making a slow journey back north and have some decent weather so have been able to sit out most days. It's been lovely in the sunshine from late morning to late afternoon with a risk of sunburn at times, but by heck in the shade it's chilly and with the wind can feel positively polar!

I have a 'solution' though to help with countering the wind, I use our large umbrella as a windbreak placing it tilted over next to my chair, works a treat.

I am drooling however for one of those deckchair clear plastic sheet 'tents' so I can sit in my chair zipped in with no wind to bother me ...

Yesterday's walk was very warm for walking, only took a couple of photos, as we have done the walk many times.


Today been out on the bikes, only took one photo of our friends apartment to get their attention, and see if they were here, No they come Monday, and as usual other friends come Tuesday, they are like busses.


We are expecting rain tomorrow. Bob.

Still wearing Thermals and winter grade gloves whilst out riding our bikes yesterday...looking likely that a return to normal service resumes from midweek...that should be nice...

And don’t forget the UK 10 degress with high humidity probably has the same feel as 4-5 degrees in a drier climate like Spain. Warms winds and the drier climate, i know where I’d want to be

Not seen above -2 here in 2wks now, -14 a few days back and then a strong +30kmh wind and unusually damp. Sales meeting in Barcelona will help keep the spirits up though

On an overcast day in Newcastle or Murcia 12 degrees will feel very similar .
When the sun does come out the radiant heat is more intense in Murcia than Newcastle and you can sit out of the breeze in shorts and tee shirt.
Then again a geordie will sit outside in all weathers with just a string vest...................no offence
