How Many Nights?

Wefuill timed for three years from 2007. We had to come back once a year for various reasons e.g. a funeral, the mot so we probably spent about 330 days in each of those years. We loved it but illness made us come back and buy a house. Still enjoying the motorhome. It feels like home as soon as we get in it.

Just checked my 'Caravan Diary' - it will be 90 when we get home on Wednesday (first time we have taken the 'van home rather than store it since 2017 so I have a few jobs to do before next year's FUN starts.

Nothing else planned for '22 but you never know as it is almost cheaper to sit in the 'van using their EHU than to stay at home.

GOOGLE gives the cost of 1KWh of gas as 4p plus £100 Standing Charge and Electric as 19p per KWh and £100 Standing Charge.

I am wondering about using a GENERATOR converted to Natural Gas to produce my electricity!!

Got our first motorhome end of July and with what we have done and got booked will have done 40 nights by end of year. Not too bad me thinks. Loving it

86 in Europe and 8 in uk, whilst in Europe we have budgeted about £100 a day to cover everything eg eurotunnel, fuel, tolls, campsites, food, gas, entertainment. Trying to use aires to reduce cost so we can spend longer abroad

55 this year, a week less than 2021, not helped by OH having a minor heart attack recently. Mind you we have had 14 days on a cruise, so I could say we've spent a bit more time away this year. Pitch fees, sites, aires, freebies etc., have averaged just under £12.50. Assuming DVLA don't confiscate my licence, must do better next year.

We're on week 12 of a tour through Europe. Hopefully another 40 weeks to go! Heading to Turkey (via Romania and Bulgaria) for the winter months. If anyone else heading that way would be good to hear from you

Not in the last year we haven't. Last time I slept in a house was September 2020 for 1 night when my hymer broke down before the tunnel

But as this will be our last trip as we are selling our Dethleffs when we can get ourselves sorted.

Trouble is there is still a hosepipe ban on at home and boy does it need a good wash.

My curiosity piqued by this thread, I’ve just been back through the calendar and seen we spent 56 nights away in the Motorhome this year. And it didn’t seem enough .

probably no more trips this year but have already got 8 nights split over 2 trips booked between mid March and mid April for next year to look forward to.

Not really. On one of our favourite regular walks we cross a river which is still at least a foot below the usual levels even after quite a lot of rain. The stream running into it has been dry for months. Local reservoirs are still very low. We’re going to need a lot more rain yet.

It has not been a good year for us, health problems 4 trips and a total of 12 nights. Not given up yet, we're still hoping to do another trip or two, don't mind the cold so much as long as it's dry. We did hope to get away this week, but it's too wet.
