How do you shower....?

This post has really gone down the pan.

Keep it up.

Hate those products, the chemicals in them make me yuck.

Have you tried ‘Method’ shower cleaner? It’s supposed to be less horrible chemicals, and eco friendly. I use the daily shower spray and it’s very good, doesn’t make you gag when you use it in the confined space of a shower cubicle, and nice fruit smelling.
I use a lot of their products and really like them.

I hate communal shower blocks. Ugh!

you make them sound awful.. and in the past many were indeed "ugh". with concrete floors, unheated, and not very welcoming.

Many modern sites have showering facilities to rival our home, and in particular CMC sites (not all CMC sites have showers) are generally of a very high standard. Heated during winter, tons of hot water, fully tiled and spotless.

Some also have privacy cubicles with a shower, washbasin and loo.. just like home.

Some of the best we have used were in Germany..

In the UK we generally use CLs and our own facilities, but when they are provided and paid for.. we use them..

When we have finished we use the shower to wash everything down. Works a treat (y)

Not heard of them, don't really see the point of using chemicals when a simple wipe down works also a waste of hard earned cash, I'm tight. :D

Wipe down after but use Eco-Camel shower head. Uses less water yet still delivers a powerful shower. We also use one at home.
We do too and at home I think it works well as it mixes air in with the water makes it feel like you are using more water than you are. However in the m/h I think the flow is too low to get much air in and water tends if anything to come out of the air inlet holes so not really convinced unless you open the shower to full power which I never do as it uses too much water.

Only if you have soft water in the tank which we find is very rare.
We fill up in Scotland so the water is hard (y)

No one has mentioned using their external showers yet, is it that not many have them, or unike the Germans are too scared to strip off outside:D

No way would I use shower in van. Never have done in all our years of caravanning/motorhoming. Too much work fiddle faddling about with rearranging everything in toilet/shower room, struggling in a small area, having to dry everything off afterwards so no damp can form and then rearranging it all back together again. Life’s too short! Use site facilities unless of course, you only wild camp or have a large RV which would be a different matter altogether.

We were like that when we had a caravan and the kids were young each to their own but in my opinion you are missing out on a lot of fantastic possibilities .

Oh and you need to be naked before you get into the cubicle to take a shower :)
I agree with puddleduck on this and his earlier post and - if you need to know about showering, always aska duck.

Sound like you need a van with a bigger shower, we can get both of us in ours.:D2

Use ours mainly for filling the washing machine.

But Lilly has had a shower outside in the alltogether.

A couple of things we did with our Autotrail 635 for longish stays on sites was to get one of these
http://www.johnscross.co.uk/products/fiamma-roll-tank-water-carrier-fresh-40l.html
Which fits spot on beside the spare wheel in the locker at the back, and used it as a waste water carrier. Plus a 40 litre Aquaroll and a small pump to fill up the onboard. This fits in one of the gas bottle spaces if you pop off the little tyres. It meant we didn't travel with either in the van and didn't have to keep moving the whole outfit to fill up and empty. Worked a treat and we got two good showers out of a fill and empty session.

Myself being in the large size find it difficult to shower properly, as I have found not everything shrinks in water. LOL.!

We don't have one. Chose not to have one fitted due to needing to carry water around and the makings to heat it. We use camp showers if on site or aire. Otherwise liesure centres, sea/lake or warm water in a bowl from kettle. Also use baby wipes if we're in a hurry or en route.

I love showering in my van, its small but the curtain covers two walls (no I don't have a posh shower) I can sit on the loo seat and shower away, then I grab my toweling robe and wrap up in it, if its sunny I can sit outside till dry, love it, my previous MH had a side window and out of this went the curtain to dry. Voila!

We do not bother wiping down our shower anymore. Instead we use Mr Muscle Shower spray as soon as we finish, same as we use when showering at home. Stops build up of soap scum and limescale.

Be careful, some of them are known to attack Plastics over time. We use them at home but our shower is tile and Ceramic.

Clicking on the piccie of Lilly reminded me of our springer, a good 20 years gone, used to swim under water, lay in the filthiest puddle she could find, would paddle in rivers in the height of winter and snorkel nd then rub herself clean!

You need a Whippet, Greyhound, or as I found out only recently, a Vizsla. They all walk carefully around puddles in the road. As for mud ............ :Eeek:
