I will start, I pour boiling water on the cylinder and then can clear see where the level is by the moisture of the cold gas, I can also feel the cold of the gas as I run the back of my hand up the bottle and see where it stops, this system has NEVER let me down unlike the stupid Gaslow gauge that seems to guess ?

I think you lot think wild camping is going to Tesco car park for a night, I'm talking about real rufty tufty wild camping in the highlands miles away from people to enjoy peace and tranquility with my girlfriend and explore each others minds and bodies and have wild passionate........ Sorry my wife just shouted downstairs she wants a cup of tea....back soon

In continual use; after a while, you know when you'll run out, I can guess to the day when we'll need to refill. But this is much harder to guess if there are weeks/months between trips. The best way is, as others have said, keep one bottle off so you need to manually need to switch over then you know you need gas soon.

On my new gaslow system they are fitting an auto changeover valve, should I say I want a wifi or bluetooth one so I can switch when one is empty, don't know even if they do these type of valves.

Ask for a manual one. Ours is auto changeover but I keep one bottle switched off so I know when we've used half. I've read that auto ones sometimes fail too ?

I would never have an auto switchover valve. They catch people out all the time
 The dealer is going to love me with so many new ideas and changes, its hard enough getting through to him once never mind a dozen times, all I seem to hear on the phone when I eventually get through is party noises, it's probably just interference on the line as Nigeria is a long way away I guess.

Yes but don’t you find that the bottle (6kg at the Time) runs out at 2.30am as happened to me every time!!!
That’s when the Alugas was fitted, never had to go out during the night since!!??

Just switch the other bottle on when you get up? What's the rush ?

How long does it take to make her a cup of tea? Finish your post!

I have a TrumaDuo with C Remote when the first bottle is empty & it changes to the second bottle a red light shows on the panel in the van. I then know I have a couple of week of gas left (winter a few days).

Only the colour-blind :) . When it goes to red I have one bottle left. So I refill when convenient. As 596 suggests a remote indicator would be useful.

Fitted the Gas-it LED gauge when I installed our under-slung tank and that was a waste of 50 odd quid, so bought a Mopeka bluetooth unit and it very accurate and I now I no longer suffer from the mental illness of "how low is my LPG syndrome"

Thanks for inspiration, see this posted on another thread for best gadgets:

I just bought the Moreko gas tank remote monitoring system, it is re branded in the USA as AP systems, I bought it on Amazon.com and with the shipping ad import duties is £72 delivered. The picture shows 1 sensor and the monitor (you don't really need the monitor as its all on the app but handy anyway, oh apparently the monitor is set/pre programmed for a 20lb bottles so it will not start counting down until that level is reached for those with huge bottles, I have 11kg which is about perfect). Now if you read the first question asked and some replies you will notice that the system shown actually comes with TWO SENSORS, so a bargain, IF you are a bit wary but want one then I am happy to be the guinea pig and show you what I receive in a few days time as I need 2 and just ordered this (y)

Amazon deal with all the import and tax issues including delivery charges, the final price you see is what you pay, no hidden extras, half the price of the twin system sold on ebay from Germany.

I just bought that system, they talk about spacers to raise the tank so the sensor fits, apparently each sensor comes with 4 rubber feet, did you need these or not on the Gaslow system? Some yanks have owned about the rubber feet wearing out and now Amazon sell aluminium spacers, no idea where they are driving or bashing their cylinders about!

The dealer/gas fitter is cutting a hole in my gas locker to fit the gaslow inlet valve, apparently its is illegal s in some countries to open your gas locker to fill, anyone know more about this?

I don’t know about illegal but some stations won’t put the pump on if you open the locker door, some get very tetchy about that!!

Off topic, does anyone know if I could have a Auto changeover valve fitted to my Alugas 14+11kg set up, and where would it go? Do you have to take the Regulator off and or move it??

This is a myth. We have toured many countries and have never been prevented from filling the Gaslow and our filler is within the gas locker. Finding a lpg station is of course another matter.

I sort of wait till the cooker goes out then change over to the full one then refill the empty one

That's what we do?
