How busy is it in Spain this year?

This afternoon, we are on an official motorhome area at Cullera, just off the motorway from Murcia to Granada (on Google the A-92N).

So far, on a well reviewed area, we are three. Us (SP reg motorhome), one Dutch reg motorhome and a French registered campervan.

Where have the rest gone? To the coast, I expect. With the rest of the sun loving hordes!
Has Cullera been moved? Last time I was there, it too was on the coast.

Sorry Cúllar! Easy access from the motorway heading to/from Granada.

It’s gone mad I tell ya!!!

We got turned away from two areas autocaravans today just east of Malaga… both were full… Mrs Carpmart phoned another two whilst we were driving, both full… pulled off the AP7, filled up with diesel at €1.43 per litre (result) and parked up for a bit to find some alternate options… ended up at Camping Valle Niza, all good (pitched up on a good 100m2 pitch, full sun on the panels and clear to the North for Starlink, so early impressions are it’s a decent site!

Lovely and quiet this week - Only a couple of other Spanish vans plus a couple of Netherlands up in Güéjar Sierra a couple of days ago, then we came back home via the land of the great unwashed and at Orgiva a couple of Spanish, one Belgian, a couple of Germans, and one Brit (who may be lurking as we tipped him off to the forum!).
Loads of spaces, no screaming kids and no late night/early morning outdoor drinking sessions next door - lovely!

We were /are considering Spain for January. Didn’t book anything as the MIL was not well, she sadly passed away 2 weeks ago. Thinking we may have left it to late for this year, this would be our first time , and don’t fancy trying to find something when we get there.

Despite my post earlier today, Spain has thousands of places to stay, you will be fine!

Just tested pitchup for Spain/MH/Whole of Jan. 34 sites, across the country, surprisingly including half a dozen in the far south. It's a big place.

Just been having a look. Having a dog limits it a bit, but still some possibilities. Anyone comment on El Raco.
