Help please .. hot water on hook up

Have you checked for the warning lights on the dial.

Do you have a access in the side of the van to the boiler.
There is a reset button on the side of the boiler, well there is on ours.
But if the dials are all lit up I’d have thought all is working.

Checking papers for a reset button ... can't just look at boiler .. although it may come to that .... it is a bloomin' pain to get to it.

Thanks again. Will let you know.

If you know where your trips are there could be a separate one for the heating and water heating.

Martin

Sorry can't help Joy....

but if you need a shower just pop round...

:giggler:

Seriously - can't you just use the gas for now

Yes .. and there are showers on site too. Not desperate just don't like things not working or going to pay to have it fixed when it something simple.

Huh! False promises... Pop round for a shower! You were in a Spanish layby last I read, having a field day with two Spanish gentlemen of the night.

Use paper plates :)

You seem pretty active and healthy considering we all just been to the Stratford meet and saw you looking rather lost without your body, poor Yorick. We couldn't say 'we knew him well' cos you keep beggaring off to bloomin' Coventry. :(

movan does the boiler work OK on gas????

Hi Bart ... it on my list somewhere above ..

The heating alone works on gas .. that I know. Checking boiler on gas after the

A.. on/off manouvre
B. . THE reset button search
C.. the separate outlet valve to boiler

etc, etc

I knew him, Horatio..

Alas, poor Yorick! I knew him, Horatio: a fellow of infinite jest, of most excellent fancy: he hath borne me on his back a thousand times; and now, how abhorred in my imagination it is! My gorge rims at it. Here hung those lips that I have kissed I know not how oft. Where be your gibes now? your gambols? your songs? your flashes of merriment, that were wont to set the table on a roar?

Lenny, Lenny, Lenny..... Read the OP.
Joy has it on 230v hookup and it ain't working.
No, John, you read the post she says the Hot water is not working, I asked if the Heating was working that way if it is we would know it is not the element causing the problem.

Not sure Joy but if it's clicking it sounds like it's trying to light on gas..

....and the offer is still open.....:lips:

Right .. begining to doubt my own sanity now.

The water is going warm. .. I havn't moved the dials other than the top to off and on a few times ... so done nothing spectacular ...

Can you look at my dials in the photo ... they ARE correct for EHC arn't they? I feel I'm going mad.

The bottom photo.
The 1 line is a lower electric setting. About 800w
Turn up to the two lines. This is about 1600 watts, but soneone will clarify.
The top picture is heating to 40 degrees. I think the orange light will go out when water temperature reached.
Turn up to 60 degrees. This kill legionnaires disease.
You're nearly there.

Yes, all looks correct and indicating it is in warm up phase.. But it is set on 40C which uses a low power element and will usually take a LONG time to warm up.. If as you say, it is starting to get warm, I would be inclined to turn it up to the 60c mark and see what happens
It it continues to heat up then all is well.
If it does not get hot then I think the low power heating element is ok, but the high power one has died

We posted at the same time Sue !

Yep its on electric only but only on the small element. Double wiggle is full on. Only set to 40 degrees I only use it on 60 degrees.Takes around 30 minutes on gas for a shower.

Ooops ditto

As above put it onto the two lines.

On the single one you might as well just hold a lighter under the boiler ?

Hi movan we have had the same problem recently, the Ultrastore worked OK'ish previously but we recently plugged the MH onto EHU at home to get the fridge up and ready, but I think we left the main Ultrastore switch on (located in the wardobe) without any water in the hot tank, I do fear that I may have damaged the element.

Is there the possibilty you had the tank empty whilst Ultrastore switched on ?
Our water tank will heat from the Spur socket in the wardrobe without selecting any functions on/near the control panel, ours works fine on gas ?

Found this thread else where: https://www.practicalcaravan.com/forum/technical/19095-truama-ultrastore-water-heater

Good luck .. J&K

Thank you all ..... :) looks like it sorted ... yeah.

sorry for being a pain ... but you'd think I'd had a brain transplant if I wasn't. :)

you are all brilliant!

i don't think movans is an ultra store its the same van as ours and its a combi if you leave the immersion on with a ultra store there's a resettable overheat trip on the boiler

Been trying to find if that is on my Truma, but the manual is a little vague !! Be great if I did have a trip/reset as I dont fancy replacing the element

Yep. Daft question. :)

Yes I have and the knob has lit up to prove it on . :(
I don't know how old your van is or the controls you have BUT my 08 Hymer had a rotary switch with stupid symbols for water and space heating on gas. And an entirely separate ON / OFF switch for electric water heating.

Thanks Tony but no separate switch.

It seems to be sorted now ..... dishes washed. :)

If it's a Truma Combi, the heating element is about £100 there are two of them might be worth replacing both. I think the heater has to come out so a fairly big job.

May not be the heating element may be something simple.
Are you near any Funsters at the moment who could have a look for you.
Elements are day light robbery..Just an electric kettle element.Paid £160 for one last year.BUSBY
