stay safe you lot, saw your reference to high winds, this was apparently in Athens today

we have seen some horrendous weather predictions for Greece in the next few days

Thursday - escaping wind !

After a tormultuous night by the sea we decided to head to somewhere calmer.
We headed south and have arrived at Ancient Olimpa where we are staying at CC70975.

We had lunch en-van, which comprised of grilled Haloumi, roasted veggies and Feta, drizzled in extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar.

Squeaky Haloumi. That brings back memories (y) :D

I love Greek food :)

Spent last 2 winters in Greece. Love the place but it is not the place to go for winter sun. The Pelopense are pleasant in the coastal regions only. Most of the mainland is pretty cold and pretty wet. Tried 7 weeks in Crete 2 years ago marginally better in coastal regions but had 2 inches of snow on the beach in Xhania one foggy day. Still loved the Island.

Just been looking online and Greece is being been hit by a hurricane
And there has been an earthquake too

Need to batten down the hatches until Monday me thinks
A "medicane" apparently, it was even mentioned on the BBC weather forecast this morning. I suggest not parking under trees. :)

Friday - trying to escape the storm

We’ve decided to abandon our plans to head any further south as the weather forecast is for a torrential rain storm across the Peloponnese tomorrow.

Instead we’re heading back north towards Igoumenitsa, where we came from just a few days ago.

Our journey took us back across the Rion Anterion Bridge, it was so windy it felt like our 4.8 ton Motorhome was going to be blown off the edge.

We’ve arrived safely at the fishing village of Amfilochia and are staying at CC60800 a free aire on the marina.

We took a stroll along the promenade which runs along the sea front and were delighted to see large turtles swimming close to the shore

Good to hear you are all safe and hope the weather picks up soon.

Gosh, that bridge looks scary, Mrs J would have been permanently on the loo whilst crossing...........

It was an a joke
The Webber cooks really well
The only issue is that his uses disposable gas canisters
Apparently you can buy a hose connector but it’s over £50
Sorry, been in Germany and Austria for 5 weeks, sense of humour may have rusted up! You don't need the Weber £50 connection kit. Just take off the small regulator and hose supplied for their expensive canisters and remove the holder. Then make up a gas hose with your chosen regulator on the end and secure it with a circlip. Or, as I have done, put the female end of a quick release connector on it and make up a choice of hoses. I have one for a Bullfinch connection to an external gas point and one with a 'patio gas' connector for a big bottle in the garden at home. Very convenient.
