Has everyone checked out CCP lately

Prices have to go up. There are too many people abusing the system by staying in towns overnight or longer, not putting any money into the local community. To many FLTs = costs for all.

France isn’t and shouldn’t pay for your holiday.
Problem is if the Aire is free in majority of cases there is nothing to spend money on in the village to enable you to give something back. No Baker, bar and in most cases people, the villages are just dead.

One CCP aire we stayed on (only once as not a good one) at Argeles sur mer, the FLTs parked in the adjacent free car park and at least one had stuck his cable through the fence and plugged into ehu.
I'm one of the FLTs who stayed in the carpark there on 6/2 (no cable though!), having seen the sardines on the CCP give me the carpark any day!

This is a big problem agreed, and in lots of the villages they are ripping up the old perfectly good cobbles to put down those little square white ones like every other village.
France certainly isn't what it was.

Unless you don't mind throwing money away it doesn't work if you want to stop for 24 hours.
Last time we stopped at Honfleur it was €12, arrived at 4pm left the next day at 3pm so cost us €12 if we had gone to the campsite it would have been €45 as they would have charged for two nights.
Honfleur is a municiple Aire run by the council, expensive because it has a good USP everyone wants to go there.
Max we have paid this trip thus far has been €32 for everything. If one prefers and happy to pay that then why not.
We will go back to Honfleur but it is likely we will stay out of town and drive in. Suits US.
PS. I don't mind throwing money away.

I really cant be bothered with the faff of booking into campsites.

I want to drive in, find a space, turn the engine off and reach for a beer.

I am OK to wave the card at the barrier on the way in but not much more.

But each to their own
As a matter of interest this trip again thus far it has been no faff checking in and ALL without exception it's been a case of find a spot wherever you like.
I find it a bigger faff trying to work out all the daft machines to pay so the barrier will lift. This trip there have been several.
As you say, each to their own.

We recently tried to use the CCP at Lorca - there was plenty of space but the machine said it was full. So we tried to get in to use the services using our CCP card & couldn't do that either - the machine said the card couldn't be used 🤷, we telephoned the helpline but still weren't able to get in to use the services. It's a few years we think since we used the card, but didn't realise that they expired 🤷☹️
Could you have changed email address since you got the card ?

Max we have paid is 2.71 euros for daytime parking.
I know it's not going to last though as we near valencia

I agree , but we don't know if we shall be going again but if we do we shall use these things to the limit if they are where we want to be. I am setting everything up to work off electric, hob, water heating, kettle, even an oil filled heater.
If we are paying for it I am going to make sure we use it. (y) ;)
I did a similar thing to you last year except smaller wattage, 230 AH Fogstar. Worked very well using slow cooker etc and we hardly used any LPG at all. Even boils a kettle on Le shuttle 😎

Yesterday at Obidos almost at the castle gates it was €0
Honfleur we went to have a butchers so wanted somewhere close so i did not have to take the car off the trailer for the sake of a quick look see.

For all those that don't like CCP here are some free ones, there are more but this is just one area. CCP are mostly old municipal sites that that they've taken over and are in the process of freshening up.

What app are you using to get these results. I've checked out a couple of free ones but before paying for an app I would like to get one that is as good as the one you use.

Well CCP have got their own free app as well as park4night which has most of them listed.

Actually, nothing to stop you getting another, they are free at the gate at any site.
Just make sure it's a different E mail address
I speak from experience being held up at the gate to several french people's annoyance whilst the then future son in law rang to ask for our daughters hand.

sedge was there. It was interesting trying to work it all out

It's park4night, use the filter to show only free stops, I have the paid app £8.99/year I think, so I have offline access, but the free version allows the same filtering.

Edit: I mostly use search for sites but park4night allows better filtering for free stops.

Hope your not going to try to put them all on together ..

just don't need them behind a barrier or in some cases a fenced compound. I know some (a lot) of people like the perceived 'security' that CCP offer. I don't. Much rather pay the local Marie 10 euros directly and have the old type of Aire.
they tried barriers only & the French drove around them so they are now fenced. That is why as tghey want the money without having to employ someone to come around to collect it & all the French drive off before they come /return after
France isn’t and shouldn’t pay for your holiday.
But it is the French who usually do not wish to pay

I'm not sure they do. I used mine last May for the first time since 2018 and it was OK.
Plus their first one in Germany, at Buhl north east of Strasburg.
I had an Email the other day advising of a new one in Belgium, the second IIRC.

Even if CCP are around €12, if you average it out with the free ones, it reduces the cost to just a few Euros. Only " LennyHB the pencil" would find that too extravagant.
