Has everyone checked out CCP lately

The worry is that the more Aires move to Corporate ownership or running the more likely it will be that they will increase prices across the board

You were lucky only stayed at few most were rubbish been on much nicer free Aires.
We never book anything defeats the object of Aires in my view.

You were unlucky - stayed on quite a few and they were all very pleasant. Never book either - don't have to book a CCP.

There is one on an island, west coast of France that you access via a causeway only at low tide. It's proper old school style camping. CCP' vary a lot.

I just use what is suitable at the time. Expensive campsite, cheap campsite, CCP, Aire, wild camp spot - all good depending on what you need/want at the time.

In France a couple of years ago during the 40 degrees heatwave and all I wanted was a swimming pool and decent showers. It cost but my was it worth it!!!

The 4 or 5 we have stayed on have been ok. I don't feel ripped off by them.
The one you mention is at ile de madame I believe.
Big campsite just prior to the causeway as well full of motorhomes.
Literally round the corner with ocean views on a cliff looking at the oyster huts is 400 yards of free motorhome parking, just for info.

Isn't that what MHing is all about, you do what you want to do, no right way wrong way. (staying eticatically;):rolleyes:aware)(of course i just made that word up.......i think)
Old school ethos is history.
Give me 16amps everyday:LOL:;) until we pack it in that is.

But the landowners set prices not CCP so unless there is only 1 landowner not likely to happen but in general things go up anyway. The ACSI thing is now getting too expensive IMHO, when we first joined 3 or 4 years ago could get €10 to €12 a night now most are in thev€23 or €25 bracket and popular ones only have a few pitches that are not the best or biggest.

Also if you don't want EHU the site's standard rate can be cheaper than ACSI.

Yeah we got done in Benidorm, said we used all our electric allowance in 16 hours and cut it off, only had fridge on as well as the charger so we just unplugged.

We stayed at a CCP in Blain last year. It used to be a larger free aire. During our stay a lady approached us with free tomatoes asking how we liked the aire and other questions. She told us she was part of a residents group who had the free aire shut down. This was because people were abusing the aire. Staying for months, loud music, leaving rubbish and upsetting the community. There were also petty thefts and some damage to local homes.

She and her residents group also were active in getting the CCP to take over. Whilst we were there we saw a few French motorhomes turn round once they realized it wasn't free.
KK
CCP have enabled the area to still have an aire but have made it safer for the local residents.

I'd have slapped her with her tomatoes.

& in areas without aires they set up in the supermarket car parks, the small shop waiting areas . seen 00's of them around France on my travels.
She is lucky that they have not moved on to those areas.

Just make sure it's a different E mail address
I speak from experience being held up at the gate to several french people's annoyance whilst the then future son in law rang to ask for our daughters hand.

sedge was there. It was interesting trying to work it all out
