Has anybody got a soloution for locking the driving seat to face backwards.

I did the same thing. Bit interesting on an LHD as the fuse box is in the void under the drivers seat, if you get what I mean. I've had to remove the side cover as well to be able to access the bolt part of the lock underneath. I just use a thickish washer to make the lock a snug fit.
There was a bracket with mine. This wasn't needed, so I prised off the washer that was on it and used that to take up the slack in the pinion. The Patriot lock has been discussed on another earlier thread from a couple of years ago.Oxford patriot lock , I had to get 2 washers welded together to take up the slack but works brilliantly.
Did you drill the two holes in them?I found these ones
