Has anybody got a soloution for locking the driving seat to face backwards.

My one is a 9mm pin in steel -- only the body is aluminium.
I've had mine in stock for years but this one is similar

A good blow with a club hammer will have that off in seconds with it being cast aluminium body.

I doubt it. You would also have trouble getting a good swing at it.
An angle grinder will make short work of almost all these any theft devices.
Don't imagine that this my foolproof method of avoiding my van ever being stolen. :drinks:

This is your one you posted in situ, and I would have no problem taking a swing at it. (y)
In fact, 30 seconds with an angle grinder will sort in.

Not so with the Patriot as per the photos I posted in the Swivel seat security thread when the same was said.

It's not infallible but it makes things a bit more difficult

Is it possible to use a plastic-coated chain and padlock to lock both seats together when the seats are turned to face habitation?

Certainly not foolproof, but an easy additional layer of security, using a motorcycle chain and padlock with the front seats reversed.

No modifications necessary.

Hi I do this as a backup really I fit my Disklock then spin the seat and fit a motorbike brake disk lock. You need to drill the right size hole in the seat frame 10mm then click it in place, it’s very effective.

The seat base has holes in it which are exposed when the seat is turned around, stick a longish padlock through. You can’t then return the seat to the driving position.

I fitted a cheap alarm disk lock about £15 it’s small and very load

And I agree they are very easy …. Some seconds!! at the end of the day the more the security you have the longer it takes to steel
We are trying to slow thieves down
The more noise they make the better!!!
fit pedal locks
Steering lock
Chair lock
Door locks
Ghost alarm
Motion sensor camera inside
GPS tracker on the cerbo gx

I put a disused Kryptonite U lock through an existing hole in the seat. It might slow a thief down a bit but would not resist an angle grinder

Just look at the mechanism beneath the seat. There are plenty of cut-outs/ holes through which a padlock can be threaded (as in my case) that can stop the seat being swivelled forwards. No need for drilling.
I also use a padlock. It can also be removed with heavy duty cutters / angle grinder, but it’s just one more layer of deterrent….

Brill , thanks 😊

We use these HEOSafe for the cab doors at night, but for safety, make sure that you have the keys easily to get to if you need to use the cab doors for a quick exit during the night.

I fitted external deadlocks to the cab doors for when we leave the van unattended. They are a good visual deterrent to a would be thief.
