Gutted but it's going

Another great day...swimming twice, walk along the beach in Looe, cream tea, amusements and bingo! Game of pool pending.. oh and pizza delivery! Can it get any better! 🤣🤣...well actually...a win on the bingo would have been nice!! On the way back from our second swim I asked if he'd had a good time...."Actually Mum, it's been brilliant!!!"
I think you'd all like Benidorm 😍👍

Does a happy child mean a happy OH as well? Have you found a way to use the van to please everyone?
Just a thought, as I don't know your circumstances, but if you and OH want a quiet weekend on a rural cl, is it possible for son to sleepover with friends or relatives?

Yes, smiles all round. Adam is going to help find somewhere for 5 nights at Easter. Took a while to get home...left at 10.40 arrived back in Haslington about 5.50pm. No moaning from boy in the back.. watched Young Sheldon all the way back 😂😂

Took me along time to get John interested in motorhoming, but think my romahome might have put him off.
Well done Grasmere9 for persevering, and well done that lad for giving it another go and realising it can be fun.

Please keep us updated on the next trip . Really enjoyed this thread now things are resolved . You should do more travel blogs , you update regularly which makes it more exciting 👍🏻👍🏻

So MH isn't for sale now...😉

🍻

Grasmere9 had already posted on another thread on this forum at about 0800 last Wednesday(23rd) that they had planned a trip to France for August, i.e. before any mention of whether they were enjoying this trip on this thread.

No mention on here of that decision.

Was that post authored by the same person who is contributing to this thread, I wonder?

Morning, when we first bought our motorhome one of the places we really wanted to go to was to see friends in Chenas France. I really hope that we will make that trip.

Morning Funsters! I am striking while the iron is hot and making a selection of sites for Easter for a few nights. The first one that I quite like the look of is Twichen House Holiday Park in Woolacoombe...any thoughts/previous experience welcome before I add it to the list to share with the family!!

I haven't tried that one yet but think it would be easier to get down to the beach and town itself from either Woolacombe Sands holiday park or Golden Coast Holiday Village, the latter has a lot of adventure stuff for kids including a surf simulator, i used to stay there in the late 70's early 80's when it was more adult oriented but more specifically for families now.

We have stayed att his site. The difficulty is once on site you will have trouble using the MH to get around down to the beach. I have not been for a few years but there was a bus the connected the site to the other sister sites and the beach. If this is not now the case I do not recommend the site with a MH as getting down to the beach is near on impossible

It says that you can walk down to the beach via a woodland walk. This last week we didn't use our MH but hopped on buses to get around. Thanks for the information.

Never stayed there as we used to go to Stowford nr Combe Martin, however we did regularly go to twichen house to use the cinema!!

You just booked by phone iirc and turned up no one asked if you were staying on site!

Getting to woolacombe using the van each day would be a pain but walking down the footpath that runs due south isn't too taxing.

Thanks Jamesh . We probably won't go far once there.. our 11 year old is a proper water baby 😂...he would swim every day!

The OP is part of a fairly active family . I don’t think a leisurely walk to the beach and back will be strain on them too much .👍🏻

Yes, the walk to Woolacoombe or the beach will be fine! We also have two dogs but for the sake of our motorhome staying in our family, they will stop at home with a dog sitter.

I am currently looking at a two night at Ashbourne Heights...looks like our sort of site with a pool, walks on Tissington trail and not far for a weekend.

The walk to the beach will be fine, the walk back up the hill after a day playing in the surf not so much :giggle: . Sandy burrows car park just behind the beach is big enough for motorhomes and even coaches but you may need to get there early at peak times. I believe it's cash only unless they've moved into the 21st Century yet, at around £10 a day, some of the proceeds from the car parks goes towards paying for lifeguards on the beach.
Edit: no overnight parking allowed.

I appreciate that but the location of the site is some distance to the beach
