Guess where we are.

We were there 6 weeks or so ago and there was an obvious high visible patrolling going on as 3 of the gendarmes walked right out to the end of the canal for a spot of lunch.
What we saw wouldn't worry us about stopping overnight
Not seen any sign of police or immigrants.

Welcome to wet France, the weather looks as if it could be unsettled for the next couple off weeks. I can't see anywhere to go which looks as if it might stay dry. But south will be warmer so we are working our way in that direction. :)
Raining hard all night and still raining now in W Sussex.
According to last night's BBC forecast the S West and South of England can expect a month's rain in the next 72 hours. :(

Montendre… are you staying at twin lakes while there Charlie…?
No we did many years ago when there was a fun rally there, only rally we have ever been to.
But it's where Julie used to live so has friends there that we can stay at.
There is a good free Aire in the centre of town as well.

In fact the photo in my avatar is outside a bar in montendre taken by the late Popeye when we were there.

Pics and report please
We are here, all brand new, looks like there might be a nice little village down the road but not been down yet.
Only us and a German van here.

Makes a change from Le Crotoy - but there again, are the moules et frites as good?

Just had a look on google and it looks ok. Nice looking patisserie in town.
Yes we have just been to the patisserie had two very nice cherry cakes, there is supposed to be a chip van the other way but we have tea sorted so won't bother with that.
This Aire does belong to the other group, not been on one before but it's fine.
No signing up or anything, just pay for your stay on arrival.
I wouldn't say it is wonderful but got all you need for a stopover.

Isn't that the one that's close to Honflure?

Just left a rainy wet lauterbrunnen on Thursday, now in sunny Füssen👍

We then went straight to javron so although we have missed honfluer we are now a day in front of our plan.
We are now here a really nice place that we have been to before ,free Aire in the chateau grounds with service but not electric.

Oh and if you remember in one earlier post I said I nearly bought a house in javron about 10 years ago for £13000, well it looks just the same and can't have been sold.
There is some sort of office next door but this house goes right back to a yard and large garden

It looks as if someone might have bought it and started to do it up but failed for whatever reason, in the yard are bags of sand that look as if they have been there years and gone all green.View attachment 945659
Shame but no one seems to live in these sort of places anymore, the middle of villages are slowly dieing like here.
