We did it last year, but Patmos instead of Crete. It was all easy despite Covid.

If you need advice just ask, as I know Greece also from 30 years having a boat there.

I can recommend a couple of stopovers to the north west at Lake Vouliagmenis and Cape Melangavi if you're looking for somewhere nearby to stay.
