Good deal on KTM Duke 390's just now.

And a price to match but it is the biking equivalent of a £250,000 supercar.

My last "fast" bike was a VFR750 which indicated 140 mph without any drama or fuss but all I could see at that speed was porridge.

At least with only 47 bhp I'd need a hill on a dual carriageway to get a ban.

I stopped buying bikes with fairings as I was flat out on the stop wherever I went!
I only have naked bikes now as it does slow me down, I get a lot of fun buzzing around on my RD400E, did a 160 mile ride out with mates on two strokes a few years back and that was plenty far enough for me...

Me too

View attachment 201377 Thought I would have a look and see if there was any info about the upcoming Duke 790 on the internet and found that KTM dealers had a fantastic offer on the 390,£1500 off brand new pre-reg '17 models. Couldn't pass up such an offer so have put a deposit on a white one for Mrs bigtree.
I could be wrong, but I think you will find they are the old model.. New one came out around April..Word is KTM dealers are up in arms cos they are pretty much stuck with the things.. Shop around and push you luck and you should be able to get an even better deal (y)

No,definitely the new model and there is no change to it in 2018. The dealer did say that he had two in his showroom (the ones in my photograph) that were full price and he would need to wait until he sold all the reduced price pre-reg bikes before he had any chance of selling them.:xblink:

Not keen on the look of the riding position, but then why would we change the 696 thanks Trev @bigtree meeting you and seeing the Duke n the garage has totally changed our method of motorhoming.
Miss my leccy bike though:xsad:

The 790 will be out in March and it's got a lower seat than the 690,looking forward to that.

That 390 Duke is a bargain and would be a lot of fun.

Personally, I think the new Duke/Super Duke styling is pretty sexy, unfortunately they are just a bit on the petite side for me, otherwise I’d like one of these:-

But then I guess I do have a little recent history with said Austrian brand...
  • RC8
  • 990 Adventure
  • 1190 Adventure
  • 1290 Super Adventure
  • 1090 Adventure R

You are wrong. The 390 I just bought is the very latest model with the updated touch screen dash etc...

Yep! (y) I was going to buy a 690 Duke but that offer was too good to miss. Can't justify paying double for the 690! :xeek:
It's only to go in the back of the van for a bit of transport when I park up somewhere out of the way. I still have my GS for touring on. :xThumb:

Have you not thought about an old two stroke Yamaha - they are very popular:xrofl:
Used to have a Yamaha YDS3 when I was at college, thought it was fantastic until I swapped it for a Suzuki T20 (Supersix) now that was a crazy 250cc machine.

Bought one :D they are fast running out of stock at this price. Only 2 left at M&P.

Now the hard work begins, Ann says she isn't ever getting on it and I have to keep the Honda Vision for the van (n)

Don’t you love it when a plan comes together.

She'll come round hopefully, can't imagine myself on it much in this weather either, and if not I can always sell it on in the spring

All sorted, insured (£90), road tax included, coming Saturday evening. Hope there's no frost so I can have a quick blast round before putting it away  :)

Can I ask who that is with ? Mrs bigtree is having to take out a new policy as her no claims bonus is tied into her 690,best she has had so far is £105 with Bennetts. Might be picking the bike up next week.:xThumb:

I feel your pain, my no claims is on the scooter but it (3 years) only makes about a tenner difference anyway. It's with Hastings direct and it's 12 quid cheaper if you do it all online.

I think you misunderstood me.

She may not be playing ball, but the net result is that you now have two bikes. What’s not to like!
