Glastonbury

Early entry?

Thought they said on the radio entry was Tuesday or Wednesday ?

Think he means the town Silver-Fox. The town electric in readiness for the festival which in fact is few miles outside Glast. Most of the local campsites are chocka block full with people who will leave Tuesday (motorhomes) to go to the festival .. the rest to follow on Wednesday.

Is corbyn making an appearance , last festival didnt they employ youngsters on zero hr contracts to pick up the rubbish ? As for charity do any of the ‘stars ‘ donate part of their fee , fair play if they do?

Think .. cannot confirm ... that some only get 'rewarded' with free entrance, to do their job of picking up rubbish and pee covered tents at the end.... but maybe that's all changed ?

Absolutely what Joy movan said. I'm in Glastonbury not at the site.. Just had a gourmet delight. Steak and Ale Filo pie, dauphenoise potatoes, peas followed by Madagascan vanilla cheesecake and a bottle of Merlot..
Free overnight parking from 18.00 to 09.00.
Meal a tenner from Tesco.
That's value

People volunteer to get their entree fee so I believe, not sure if there are also contractors (probably)to help clear up, paying not a lot but people want to be there for the atmosphere so will do it. As for the bands and I’m only guessing after reading and watching Glasto stuff, the bands do not charge full fees, the extra revenue they get after being televised across the globe more than makes up for it, unless your Fleetwood mac who want paid in full, hence they still have never played but are at the top of the hit list if they can come to a deal with the Eavis’s.
Anyway im off to buy some more sun cream cause it’s gonna be a scorcher :sun: :sun: :sun: :sun:

Apparently they are trying to cut down on plastic waste, and obviously the drugs and sex, this year and some rules and regulations are supposedly in force to help the environment and stop the tonnes of litter created.
So read up on it - your plastic cap for the showers may not be allowed.
Be forewarned.....
?

Went once, but now rather shove wasps up my arse.
I Feel I ought to make an effort but my tolerance level for stuff like this is decreasing by the day.

Not that into music really. but fancy the experience.

Blimey and I thought it was all muddy wellies, drugs, booze and peeing in hedges ?

Guys and guy-Essex... it is an experience like no other, I am Very Intolerent and don’t like much music ( Leonard Cohen - the Cure Coldplay anything apparently beginning with C) but Glastonbury is for many 20 % about the music and the rest is just magic, the food the fireworks the friendliness of everyone, circus cinema kids field .. and the shopping is like your best thing ever if you like shiny unusual jewellery or handmade blacksmiths things . ‘ souse rambling post just about to get in van pick up daughters camping stuff and head to Cheddar for the night. Beyond happy today xx

It's basically rained all night but it appears to have stopped now.
Now, in all honesty, what do you think the ground would be like at any Glastonbury festival?

Setting off to B&W now, what’s the best route heading down M5 my sat navs saying m4 m32 A4320 looks like it’s right through Bristol, is it easier heading further down M5 then cutting across, don’t fancy being stuck in rush our if I can head further south and cut back in, any suggestions ?

Stay on the road and head towards Taunton sugns. (Don't worry you not going there). Your satnav will then AGAIN say come off at yet another turning. Stay on towards Taunton.

Then stay in left lane (you may have to anyway as recently had small road works) until you come to brown road sign which says come off marked Glastonbury. That's the one to take.

Nice drive .

Did this recently. As Movan says, keep to M5 until signed Glastonbury. Bristol is a nightmare and higher junctions are cross-country with some narrow roads

Thanks we stayed on and came of at junction 21 I thought the A roads in the lakes were narrow jeees had a few breath in moment with the HGVs only queued for 5 mins then straight in.
All set up with beer in hand will head out to the main festival to suss out in a couple of hrs

Ll ll check later .. think you came off too soon if you had narrow roads like that ..

For those who have experience in escaping the Glasto asylum on the Monday,

What’s the best time? Silly o’clock or hang fire chill out and bimble out at lunchtime and also,
Best route to get us back to the M6, google maps showing A37 back to Bristol.

As for my first experience of Glasto, I think my senses have seen and smelled (Good & bad) everything, long droppers, wow? I think my legs and liver can last the Sunday out just.

And how lucky with the weather :sun:
