Germany packed weather crap now. Who's brave enough for Spain

Missed you too - so much. Bet you are pleased you were so correct in your assumptions regarding the pandemic that it was nothing to worry about - keep it up you sooth- sayer!
There is nothing to worry about ( well apart from this crazy scary government!)
Keep it up you naysayer 😁

Just spent weekend in Narberth in van (FLT) Great restaurants and shops and weather fantastic. Hidden gem and we only live 10 mins away 🤔

Off to Spain and Portugal in October if I can get out of Wales.

Fingers crossed things improve.😎

Having discussed the matter with my insurers NFU, and reading the same discussion matter from others, it's only travel insurance that may be null and void, should you travel against the FCO's advice for particular countries.
The only concern re motor vehicle insurance, was that due to Covid measures in some countries, any breakdown or recovery assistance may be greatly affected. :(

HTH,

Jock. :)
Had the RAC out on Sunday & Monday no issues that was in Austria .👍

Off to Germany today for 4 weeks, 'er indoors is adamant she does not want to quarantine when we get back so I am going to have to flipping freeze.
Having to pack winter clothes, it's so not right.
Head straight to Spain then bomb back to Germany for the last two weeks of your trip and no need to Q14 when home!

We have to be in Belgium for Tuesday so not worth the effort it would probably take us nearly a week to get the warm bit of Spain. If we see anything interesting on the way we just have to stop.

That's a shame. In Rothenburg ODT now and it is rammed on Parking no2. Never seen so many cables running back and forth over the roads. Doubt if Belgium will be as busy though!

Still perhaps it will be less busy on the way north later in the week.

Planning to visit Morello and N+B on the way to Aachen.

Near Builth Wells on favourite camp site, not saying where, dog loves it, went up and over the hill today to the very top, never done that before in 20 years, did it on electric bike though, even so pleased with myself. Watched hand gliding later on in the sun

Is he behind and slightly to the right, of the person sat down?

Edited................ Ah, too late, but I'm wrong anyway. ;)

Cheers,

Jock. :)

I'm not very techy when it comes to editing photos, (as my efforts will confirm  ) however, the person is on the left with the dog behind, and slightly to their right........................as indicated. ;)

It depends on the weather and where you want to be in Spain.
I tend to use tonka's Western route going down, (Dec/Jan), and the Eastern route coming back, (Mar/Apr).
At this time of year, the Eastern route down to Montpellier and beyond should be good weather wise. We prefer to avoid French tolls routes where possible. Both are available in resources.

Cheers,

Jock. :)
I'm in the Auvergne 136km north of Montpellier and it is grey and raining. Same weather a little more north for the last couple of days. It was sunny until then.
I'm heading for Spain, I am hoping to be reasonably safe because solitude is what I seek anyway. And sun I must admit. So I will have to balance the search for sun with the attempt to avoid other people, who may be searching for the same. L'enfer, c'est les autres.
I notice that about one third of the cases in Spain are in thé Madrid region. For the rest, Barcelona is a hot spot, and all the provinces along the Pyrenees are have higher rates per 100,000 than most provinces. Any info or comments would be welcome.
i also notice that Spain has introduced an entry form but it is so much based on flying in, that I wonder whether it applies to driving in. Has anybody driven into Spain in the last few days? Was it Schengen as usual?

Drove in and out of Spain last week in the van. Stayed for a few days in Sort for some Motorcycle riding on the trails. Crossed over at Bossóst near Viella. No problems at all, no one at the border as usual, so all normall.
I tried to complete the form but gave up as could not proceed without a flight number.
We are planing another trip to Spain / Portugal in the next week or so, unless something changes.

I've read on Facebook, that the Andalucian government is trying to stimulate tourism this winter by providing full cover for Covid incidents for foreigners, from 1st January 2021. The cover allegedly includes full treatment if tourists contract the disease, repatriation costs and any costs arising from having to isolate.
Does anybody know whether this is true?

so, am I understanding this correctly, you are travelling without health insurance and do not know if you will get help should your van break down?

There is an article about it here but it doesn't give much detail

Tourism Minister, Juan Marín, has announced that from January the Junta de Andalucía will launch tourist insurance for international tourists visiting the community. Said insurance will cover both hotel and hospital expenses if they become infected with coronavirus during their vacations.

It is an initiative that seeks to give international tourists greater security guarantees to visit Andalusia in 2021. The Board has already promoted other measures to reactivate the tourism sector, such as the creation of the "Safe Andalusia" seal, which is welcomed by hotel establishments or the Andalusian Tourist Bonus that will come into effect on October 1.

You are not understanding correctly, as that is not what I posted. Please feel free to read my post again. :)

Regards,

Jock. :)
