Gareth & Phil have fun in Spain 2025.

We love Tavira, you can not stay there without going to Restaurante Tres Palmerias, it's just down the road from the Aire on the left after the roundabout, only open lunchtime you need to get there by 12:30 at the latest. Mixed fish is awsome and they serve it with boiled potatoes & veg nice change from chips and of course a salad.

I’ll second this, and it’s not too far from the camperstop. All the locals eat there.

It was a funny weather day yesterday, shorts and raincoats.
Its a lovely town Tavira and seems to have improved since we were here years ago.
Anyway, the same frenchman running a lovely wine bar was still here so we availed ourselves of a couple of glasses of wine.
But as the rain was starting,
we decided curry for lunch indoors 😄
What a great idea, found a restaurant called "Little india" and it was great service and even better food.

Little India is one of our favourites too 😋 Artefact is another restaurant that never disappoints 👍

Well, we walked in with the idea of doing the fish restaurant but I snagged a barbers appointment for 1pm so as soon as the hair was done we decided it's too late for the fish one so I said I had another recommendation from Russell's Dad
But that was closed today.

So today's restaurant was a river side place called Borda de aqua Gastrobar.
It was very very good, especially my main course of cockle rice with sea bass fillets phil enjoyed his rabbit main as well.

Do you share the driving guys or does one always navigate and one always drives?
We both have a licence to drive but I'm a control freak and he's not been given the chance to drive this one , however if the need arises he's more than capable 🙂

That sea bass looks gorgeous. Maybe we just didn't go to a high end enough restaurant when in Portugal to experience great food.

Feeling very lucky this morning, there was a queue of 8 campers trying to get on at Tavira so I thought what have we done but I wanted to move on.
We got to Falesia camper park and they where full but we went next door and they had a non electric pitch so we grabbed it.
Panic over.

We had a lovely day today even though the rain came down in the afternoon but before that we had a walk along the cliffs and the beach before calling into a local Portuguese food restaurant which was very nice.
The main dish was pork with clams and prawns and it was lovely washed down with a local white wine.

Noooo, coconut is like grit. Chocolate is of course very wonderful indeed. I am suffering withdrawal symptoms from decent chocolate. A whole month now without decent desserts other than fruit. These very hot countries do struggle other than ice cream and I don’t like that.

Obviously I am doing regular taste tests just in case and have occasionally been proved wrong! Italian restaurants seem to be the best bet.

Another local lunch, the weather is lovely today.
It looks really bad rain for the next few days on the algarve so I think we shall head north tommorow
A nice white sangria at the camper to finish off the afternoon 😄

My wife and daughter think I’m weird as I don’t like chocolate unless it’s very weak, I can eat a kitkat but could eat a bar of chocolate without any biscuit, also chocolate ice cream must be the worse thing ever invented 🤮😂

If anyone should be ignored that statement about chocolate ice cream should put you at the front of the list.
However if you renounce the devil that how has obviously taken over your soul you can be forgiven

I'm with you lorger I love chocolate but hate chocolate ice cream.
I'm on the fence on this one. Yes I do like chocolate, but not enough to be eating it more than once or twice a year. Quite fortunate really, because if I enjoyed all these sweet treats (I don't even put sugar in my coffee) I would probably be twice the size I am now. So I'll give it all a miss for now.
