Gareth & Phil have fun in Spain 2025.

Unfortunately, whilst visiting the Funster hotspot of Benidorm, cycling up to @cliffanger, my bike had a disagreement with a kerb….broken wrist, broken leg later and we are now home awaiting operations on both.
Oh no - neither of you have much luck on two wheels
:hugs:

Can't compete with Garith & Phil & Mr wallet has disowned me.

Is that the village below porto that used to let you park up on the seafront next to the farmers market ?.
Martinhos is a few km north Porto, the old port not sure about the motorhome parking, as I alway took a car or taxi, it was work rather than leisure.

I’m really enjoying your thread. We were a couple of weeks behind you and due to vist Carpmart Harvey and Babe at Mar Menor.

No sangria was involved as I rarely drink…which I think is my problem, you both seem to drink copious amounts of wine and beer whilst suffering no ill effects…no wobbly stumbles, tipsy trips and you manage to return to the van intact. Just what is your secret? Years of conditioning? Blessed with hearty constitutions? I’m genuinely in awe of what you guys can eat and drink.
I’d love to nosh like you but Martin would need a hoist to lift me!

Thank you so much for sharing your trip, you’ve highlighted places we’ve yet to explore, it might not happen for us this year but who knows hopefully I’ll be raising a glass in your honour there one day and until then enjoying the rest of your trip.

Keep up the good work. Salud.
Sounds awful, fingers crossed for you.

It's a very damp and miserable looking day, for some unknown reason I have a splitting headache, it must be the air pressure obviously nothing to do with the wine from yesterday 😀😀.
It was going to be a tuna salad with nibbles day but I may make a fabada as I picked up a meat trio the other day (long life fridge pack) i love a fabada especially on a wet miserable day.
Let's see what the weather does.

You have not been drinking the water by any chance? What beans are you using? I can smell it from here!

I usually use Asturias grown Fabes. It's definitely off the menu, i just checked and I'm out of beans duh. I will pick up some beans tomorrow.

You mentioned you're thinking of following the Portuguese/Spanish border - not sure if it's your sort of thing but we found Merida worth a visit, well preserved Roman ruins. Can't comment on the gastronomy though!

Yes it's very good, we have been before.
To be honest we have done a lot of Spain as its our go to country.
Although france is our option for this summer hopefully.
We have found though it was a bit of a chore finding places with space this time.
I'm still pondering wether to nip into the algarve tomorrow, the beauty of a motorhome is the ability to choose your destination on a wim.

The Roman remains are very impressive we thought.

That cheese platter looks excellent - we often struggle to find suitable tapas as I'm (Alb) Coeliac - did it have a name?

Enjoying your thread, by the way 👍
