Gareth & Phil have fun in Spain 2025.

Many times, however we are not in whitby. 😀

Although I'm sure one of the seaside places on the way to cadiz specialises in hake and chips with takeaway establishments.

When you get to Cadiz go to the fish market. You can buy all the types of tuna there including that beautiful marbled belly.

Well i think we shall go to Gibraltar today, done it a few times now.
If you get some pork pie from morrisons will they allow me to bring it back into spain ?
Genuine if you have done it recently.
Thank you
You going on foot or with the van?

I walked out with weetabix under my arm. Loads with shopping bags seemed very few checks. Only suitcases seemed to be scanned

The pics are a suggestion of eating place in cadiz

We visited in December and brought back some groceries, they weren’t interested. It wasn’t Morrisons so not sure if that makes a difference as it was the small supermarket just before the border, I’m sure it was Waitrose.

Morrison's pork pies, no thanks lots of pastry and little filling, enjoy your time there.

Good luck with your tuna hunt. I had fresh tuna yesterday in old Panama City. I worried for a moment that it might be too rare but it was just melt in the mouth. It was a slice from a bigger tuna that had a seeded crust . Served with jasmine rice, beans but they were edamame and greens. The greens were a bit like kale but not bitter. Plus salad.

It’s still fresh mango season!

Gibraltar is very marmite for a lot of people, we actually like to do a call in if we are passing.
Deal of the day was the 6 Christmas hats I bought for the business normally £10 each got them on sale for £2.99 each.
No pork pies but did get some lovely thick rindless back bacon, perfect.
Plus a very cheap belstaff t shirt, not a copy a real one at half price.

Good haul! 👍🏻

Has anyone done Tarifa, is it worth doing ?
Yes we loved it. The main stop is a bit of a shanty town so we moved to this one. Hotel has a bar and restaurant but go right along beach and the camp site bar and restaurant is right on beach.

If you turn left before Arte Vida there’s a long parking strip on the beach - I think Northernraider parked there- it’s on P4N I think
Walk along the beach and up to Hotel Hurricane chinguinita for lunch or better still in the hotel for dinner.
There’s also a very good Italian chinguinita restaurant at the end of the parking strip - in between Arte Vida and Dos Mare hotels
We’ve had some very good wine at the Hurricane…
Last time a new wine from Arcos called Teliser
( had it with the Chateaubriand)

That's the place that's like a shanty town IMHO.
