Gareth & Phil have fun in Spain 2025.

It’s skone definitely, only posh people say sconn and I’m sure they wouldn’t put enough jam and cream on for me.
Well this non posh scouser says sconn

I think we should ask Mr & Mrs Peavy on the pronunciation as they are the language experts on here

We had planned to move on today but we woke up to a car boot sale with lots of cars blocking our way out, so we decided we shall stay one more day.

Did you follow my sanguine advice and use the hammer 🔨

😮😌😉🤪🤣
Even if he did, he cannot admit it on a public forum because it would void the warranty...... ;)

Does one pronounce, phonetically; skone or sconn… 😉🤔

The answer is of course, it’s a skone and not a sconn! ✔️

More English tips next week folks! 😇

it’s scone, where the f did the k come from 🤣

PS. pardon my proper yorkshire 😉👍

Rarely heard it calleid anything other than a sconn till I moved to England
To avoid friction can we refer to it as a high sugar, flour, milk and dried fruit baked goods?
Most definitely not I like cheese and treacle ones proper treacle not that wishy washy syrup stuff 😉

personally I think scones should be much smaller so that you can pop it in your mouth in one, and not get messy eating ‘em..
and cut in half of course so you get a top and a bottom..

and jam first followed by cream but if you must insist on t’other way around, then make an indent for the jam to go into the cream so that it doesn’t slide off..

Isn’t it a let down as well when it’s that disgusting squirty cream. That must have been invented by Americans. Please don’t correct me if I’m wrong . I try to think of the good things that have come out of America and so far it’s only Peanut butter and Denzil Washington.

Yes I have been.
