Full time through winter in search of new life

dawsey has started a new thread here

That just links to this thread… 🤪🤣

Well done… looking forward to updates and getting over there…☀️😎👍🏼
Hmmm, looking at the smilies I'd suspect you might be a tad disappointed...
This is the thread, he's opened up the old thread
Yes indeed. Tomorrow the most prized possession is being transported to the new project, my Ducati 748. It will be used as a piece of art for the house...

Congratulations on sticking with the dream and now finding a place that with some work realistically spaced over time and within budget allowances, will provide a great opportunity to open the site you have always dreamed of owning.
I know you will get loads of advice, help & support when needed from the knowledgeable Funsters, thanks for re-kindling this thread, we were always behind you, even though more & more problems raised their ugly heads on your last proposition.
I guess you should be looking out for a SH JCB & a Dumper soon, I hope this place doesn't have the "Stinky Trees" and massively overgrown tress that are too big for you to deal with yourself.
I would just get the necessary permissions for a camp site, provide some basic level pitches and water at first, then add the shower/wc facilities & EHUs as soon as feasible.
Park the Spa & Swimming pool refurbishments initially as they will take the most time and cost a fortune probably to reinstate, and please don't forget its the slower pace of life along with the ambiance of the place that will keep people coming back and telling others. Not all of us want swimming pools, just a nice quite place to act as a base camp to explore the local area.
Well thats my view anyhow, sorry if I over stepped the mark a bit, its your dream project after all, you know best.
Best wishes.
LES
Yes, absolutely looking for at least a mini digger and a dumper. I've already bought a non runner Countax A2050 garden tractor (a medium sized ride on mower, with a whopping triple blade cutting deck and nice honda v-twin engine) a few hundred quid at auction, struggling g to get a spark though, I will get there in the end, once i've got my tools here.

Sounds like it's all just a big scam so you can go out a buy big boy toys

Have you run that idea past the other half ?

I'd hate to hear the project was delayed by an unscheduled visit to A&E

but you talk as if you don't understand the concept of a classic 1990's motorbike being suspended from a ceiling as the most important thing?

There's only one negative about the new place, it's next door to a military training centre. The sounds of machine guns and heavy artillery are something you do get used to though. The nightly flares are actually quite pretty, and I like to see a Hercules flying overhead, they are not as noisy as the fast jets or those military helicopters. Other than that, the place is lovely.

Check your seat switches. They cut the spark. Later ones are twin switch, and opposing.

It was an unforeseen consequence of Brexit, bit us on the bum at the final moment. But hey, we super clever Brits got control of our borders didn't we.......

We had to refocus on a country outside the EU as it became a nightmare. Currently back into the UK finalising financial matters.

Again, thanks for all the messages of support and let's not get political, I'm done with it. You all know our feelings about leaving the EU so we aren't going there anymore. It's just about the challenge.

Tomorrow or the next day will be a huge post about all that's happened, no less than 6 aborted purchases, tax scams. illegal developments, fraudulant sellers, undeclared bankrupts, repossessions. we feel we've seen lots if not close to it all. Blimey, it's a minefield and what we came away with was that 70-90% of Brits trying to relocate to France get duped and fail.
