Fuel shortage

A friend is a tanker driver who collects from Purfleet. His depot has protesters. Also has police from Wales and the Midlands in attendance. One driver wanted to remove a protester from his lorry. He was told not to as he would be arrested. My friend managed to exit the refiner on the pavement whilst protesters were distracted with another lorry. He and the other drivers are very close to kicking off with the protesters.

In my day any one of the below justified an owner/driver removing a scrote from their vehicle. The only excuse for such a statement is the potential for a Breach of the Peace. Someone just wants an easy life!
1. Interfering with a motor vehicle.
2. Trespass on private property - the vehicle
3. Criminal damage - scratching the paintwork

Dont know why your friend would bother ,they are still getting paid just sit it out and take the money ,the haulage companies who handle the tpt have no loyalty to the employees and made loads redundant or changed T&C with covid .

Back in the day the Bobby would say ok I will look the other way while you remove the cockroach from your cab in case it containments your lunch box.

Funny how back in the seventies the Police were tasked with stopping picketing. Right or wrong the pickets were trying to save their jobs.

What has happened to the new penalties for blockading public highways & other important infrastructure. I thought it could be a max £10,000.00 fine, and or a 10 year prison sentence. Why are we not hearing that these idiots are facing these penalties. Is this our weak justice system again.

Yes

Are these shortages on the news? Perhaps they don't want to create a fuss this time, after all, it affects them too.

Yes a slap on the wrist and sent home. And a telling off …

These protesters who glue themselves to the road outside the refineries, should be shot then hung drawn and quartered.
I think the police should just pull them off regardless, the small percentage (of their bodies) left behind will discourage them from doing it again.

Gave the van a run out today as I’ve just had it remapped and wanted to try it four garages I passed had fuel, topped up ready for the trip to York next week😁😁

I would just have removed them as painfully as I could then I would have done the same to the copper who should have been doing it in the first place. Then when eventually let out I'd have gone back & done them all again. :mad:Absolutely enrages me. I'd have to be stopped from driving over them.& anyone else who was trying to placate me.

Yes I'd just use a shovel to remove there hands. Or douse them in petrol & watch them tear there own hands free:ROFLMAO:

Also shortages here in the east , it’s about time the unwashed were sprayed with something nice as their disruptive actions are helping nobody.
They should be sprayed with smart water and then banned from all form of public transport..Wonder how they travel because of course non of them would ever drive a car would they.😁😁😇😇 BUSBY.

Haven’t read all this thread, but just got home from our son’s place in Devon……no diesel at our local Asda or Tesco. 🤷‍♂️

Filled up the mh at Morrisons today. Its a bit cheaper at Asda but further away so probably not worthwhile as traffic dreadful locally today. Sunny day, weekend and school holibobs.
Will look for unleaded for the toad tomorrow.
As you say traffic terrible today, same here which just shows the price of fuel isn't stopping people driving,,,it is me though,,not moved my car for a week now..BUSBY.

Thought this may cheer a few up. Hilarious.

Bless them. They've only got room for one thought in their little heads. I'd love to see one of them come up with a costed, reliable alternative that wouldn't involve some of their anarchist mates protesting

Blithering fools. Send them to Rwanda along with the unwanted migrants.

As they (the ‘protesters’) know where the depots are, I assume the police do too…..? Is it not too much to suggest that a couple of officers be at each site to deter the ER plonkers…?:mad:
Send in the Army, preferably the SAS, they wont mess about.
Go on Boris you know you want too.
