Morning all. First night survived but front screen has a lot of condensation...heater on and engine running but not clearing...any ideas or suggestions.

Karcher window vac here. Superb bit of kit
We have one as well, well 2 to be precise, the earlier 'leaky' version which is a spare and the later one which doesn't need a nappy! 😄

On the niessmann with roller blind down at night there is only the faintest mist on the screen ,but this wasn’t in use so next time no problem ,

You're right Brian....next time I will remember to pull the shutter down. 🚐
I have an insulated shutter as well but still get a bit of condensation in the winter. Karcher fixes it inside 90 seconds though. And Minxy Girl - mine does not need Tena……

Finally got to fit the Extra Long Screen Cover today [just before the Wind and Rain returned on what was forecast to be a bright and sunny, wind free day ...]. Easy to fit, even when dodging oncoming traffic on the A921, including an Ambulance that appeared to be looking for business ...], and the straps that attach to the velcro on the underside [over the Scuttle area] have plenty of elastic to enable the hooks to clip over the inside lip of the bottom section of the Bumper.

We also managed to remove, fold and rebag the Cover standing on the footpath, without the usual scrambling about on hands and knees, so that was a bonus! There are 2 magnets supplied to enable the internal screen material that wraps around the Door frame to be attached to the cab door metal frame, but we didn't need these [unable to use them because the door upholstery protrudes too far].

Really pleased with the Screen Cover, one of those rare purchases that work easily first time without having to decipher the instructions and then swearing and struggling ... And no sense of dread at the prospect of having to do battle with it to fit the Cover in a 'live' environment ... (y)

Nice on Steve, as an aside, how much do they weigh?
Mike.

Thanks, Mike. I didn't see any weight data on the website or packing. My guess would be around 4.5kg [difficult to weigh because the normal packing bag makes the folded length about 150cm]. The Cover can be folded over again, to produce a length of about 75cm and a compressed depth of about 40cm, using the supplied velcro strap to keep it 'squeezed'.

I just checked the Courier Rate for these measurements and weight and the price quoted is more expensive than I was charged, so my weight estimate is possibly overstated!

I’m the same, I fancy the minster one in dark grey. I rang the Manchester office today but was advised to ring the Telford office but on another day as the lady to speak to wasn’t there this afternoon.
Try the Sheffield branch

I’m looking for an external screen cover at the moment. Looking at Minster, Polar screens. Also considering the Taylormade ones.
Minster make a darker grey one now and that is the one I’m fancying.
Does anyone here have any thoughts on these two manufacturers? The price is around the same.
We have Minster. They’re a good fit and work really well. I went for silver as I think it’ll stay looking cleaner for longer.

Saw the Karcher and another brand one in Lidl yesterday. £39.99 and £19.99 respectively
We've tried other brands and although cheaper they aren't anywhere as good - check the wattage as that gives a good indicator or how 'sucky' they are.

I have ordered my screen cover from Minster products. It’s actually a lady in Telford that makes them. Rang her this morning, very helpful although the pewter grey is out of stock until mid October. That’s fine though, I won’t need it before then. She’s going to ring me for payment as and when my screen is ready for dispatch.

The window vac works for us but remember to do the bottom of the screen first then angle it up, or the damn thing sprays water all over you, bad design really but it does work if you keep it body downwards.

Each to their own and if you feel claustrophobic using one, don‘t get one. We bought our Clairval external screen when in France in January 2016 when it was -5 on our first night in Moulin. It cut the condensation completely but, as Minxy Girl said, the real benefit was the difference it made to the temperature in the cab area in the van.
We find it dries really quickly even when we don‘t wipe it down before packing it away. We have, on occassion, just stood it in the shower when wet. As soon as we get somewhere dry just open it out and it dries in no time.
We wouldn't be without it and it ranks as one of our ‘best buys’.

The later models are less inclined to spray water but I agree do the bottom first.

On ours if I tried that I'd end up in a heap next to the the windscreen due to the 'ski slope'! 😄

Minster screens. Excellent service and quality product. Made to measure, very smart screen in black, with a zip down privacy panel for the daytime.

Thoroughly recommend Minster. Went to them, they measured it up and went back 3 days later to pick it up. (We were staying with friends north of Sheffield at the time). Excellent product and service.
