From Spain to Norway - the long way round

You're always clipped in with your harness but there are parts where it's safe enough to take out the phone to take piccies. The danger is dropping the phone not us dropping!

but if you think it through a dash cam (self powererd) fitted to a headband or to a helmit if you wear one (and I hope you do) would take some fantastic shots and you could take stills of of the vidio

or you could just superglue your phone to your forehead

At the aire at Broglie, south of Rouen, battened down awaiting the anticipated storm :D.

Have you come up on the Le Mans-Alencon toll route?

Toll route, wash your mouth out!

We went around Le Mans and into the Alpes Mancelles for biking and walking then we came here on the national road through Alençon.

Its just started raining!

The guy in the shorts watched us and put everything away, about two minutes ago!

What's the Route Nationale like past Alencon? Are the villages etc bypassed? Moslty dualled?

Wondering about using it as a change to the Evreux/Chartres/Tours N10.

(Thank God you got down off that Very Ferrocious. Made me ill just looking at the photos.)

The route national is OK (for us with normal vans at least). It's not dual carriageway though. It bypasses some, but not all of the villages. Don't know what the charges are for the motorway but you have to make your own choice. We wanted to stop off here at Broglie so didn't drive so far today.

We didn't get the storm that was forecast (60km wind :() but we did get very heavy rain. At the moment it's all quiet but we expect more rain. Don't know what to do today, whether to stay around here or move but we have to get the ferry at midday tomorrow from Dieppe. We were intending to go to the coast just west of Dieppe like we did last year but that may be a bad move.

Decisions, decisions .

We're sitting on the river bank at la Malleraye sur Seine (eventually decided) watching the ships sail past in the rain.

Fred Olsen Cruises has just gone by.

Whatever they've paid, they've got the same weather!

welcome home. I orderd dry weather just for you both

Sunny but cool here in ???? Racing from Plumpton area! Billy no mates on a CS. Just spoken to the owners and it looks like we're here on our own tonight. Looks like good badger country so will be keeping a lookout until it's gone dark. I know ... they come out then! They'll go unobserved then.

When Andrea's mum and dad were alive, they liveed on a farm on the Brede/rye crossroads (moorsholme dairy farm) they used to put scraps out every night by th bird table and a family of badgerds would come every night at the same amount of darkness, we could whatch them from her kitchen with the light off.

Hope it improves for you over there @scousebird . It was OK today. Just don't go anywhere near @cliffandger they seem to be finding rain wherever they go. Must admit not seen today's news yet! Maybe they've found the sun.
