French diesel prices

No diesel in Le clerc @ Falaise this morning, had to get it on the A28 1.97E got the black arm band on now. Apparently Total garages are the cheapest but a lot have been running out of it.

Sorry to divert the thread but, bobandjanie where is the aire near Marmange?
Obviously put on Google maps by a German, it's free with water and dump maybe electric I didn't check that, and a cycle route along the canal. 😁
Filled at the garage and not seen cheaper since. 😎 Bob.

can anyone crossing via the tunnel please check the total garage on the left as you leave. a mate says it was €1.60 on friday when he passed and realised too late

If you can post on here i’d appreciate it as we’ll be passing tuesday

cheers

Al 👍
Yes filled up there on Sunday €160

Slightly moving away from the cost but we struggled to get our mastro debit to work in the Casino linked supermarkets with 4 prepayments going through pending at 130 euros each, whilst message at the pump says error so no fuel taken.Initially thinking my card was faulty then trying the wife's in the second garage. Eventually bought it on the motorway, again an automatic pump but this time going through thankfully. Has anyone exprienced the same?.

Gazole is 1.731 at E Leclerc in Ruffec this morning. That includes the subsidy.

Yesterday I paid 1.76€ / litre at Super U near Lille and then 10mins up the motorway I saw it for 1.66€ at LeClerc…. But a few days back it was 1,98€ / litre at SuperU in Gravelines.

We had the same on our account last week. It eventually disappeared but it does affect the balance on your account until it does. No good if you haven’t big funds on that card.

We came over to France on Sunday. In the run-up to travel I’d been keeping an eye on prices on www.prix-carburants.gouv.fr, and been happy to see prices down as low as €1.78. When we got here though, lowest we could see was €1.96.

We knew a further government subsidy was kicking in from 1 Sept, and sure enough today the website is showing prices as low as €1.64, which is great. But why did the prices go up so much over the last week or so? It’s almost as though there was a hiatus when the previous government subsidy lapsed?
(And guess who had to buy some diesel yesterday?!)
French prices do seem to have some major fluctuations - we topped up on the way back to St Malo from Biscarosse at what seemed like a reasonable price in comparison to the UK (€1.94) only to pass other fuel stops as we got further north selling as low as €1.62. You could always tell that there was cheap fuel ahead as cars were queuing out on to the main carriageway so we gave it a miss as we weren't quite desperate enough to sit for half an hour to maybe end up at an empty pump.

Diesel at the Total garage as we left the tunnel on tuesday was €1.65 so brimmed it
We are currently in Ypres and heading for Bruges today and it’s all around the €1.95/1.98 area

It is currently £1.40 equivalent in Poland, even after the slide in the £ exchange rate, which I fortunately avoided by changing £2K.

We are off to France in about a week so strategy is to fill up again before German border, top up minimum in Germany to get to French border and maybe cross Rhine further N. than usual and run down French side.

We are heading to Annecy through Switzerland so a fill in France should see us through SW OK, where it is €2.30

Just come off the tunnel after our few days delayed start and the first garage you come to its €1.61😁
Put just enough in today to get us over the water as with my tank it’s about £80 saving.

Tank getting low, travelling from Ypres west across france, posted prices aprox €2.00, past another same price, down to 75 miles range, said next one I’m putting a bit in no matter the price, pulled off €1.65!, whilst waiting to fill range dropped to 70 miles, filled up happy. Now in Bayeux, local price €1.74

My local El Remolino dropped theirs to 1,77€ today so 1,57€ after discount. I still filled elsewhere this a.m at 1,49€

Yes . Cepsa give 30c discount + another if you sign up for the Porque tu Vuelve card + more if you pay with a mastercard. Repsol start at 30 c then there are some additions with them. Bp have a card also.
The basic discount (minimum) is 20c.Unless they have already increased it as they said they were going to do & I have missed it?

People ask why are we paying so much here for fuel, it's easy to see why, As oil is priced in US$ around the world and the British pound is on par with the Ugandan Cocoa bean, What hope have we got for lower prices, The Euro and US$ sitting about equal £1.15
