We had the same on our account last week. It eventually disappeared but it does affect the balance on your account until it does. No good if you haven’t big funds on that card.Slightly moving away from the cost but we struggled to get our mastro debit to work in the Casino linked supermarkets with 4 prepayments going through pending at 130 euros each, whilst message at the pump says error so no fuel taken.Initially thinking my card was faulty then trying the wife's in the second garage. Eventually bought it on the motorway, again an automatic pump but this time going through thankfully. Has anyone exprienced the same?.
French prices do seem to have some major fluctuations - we topped up on the way back to St Malo from Biscarosse at what seemed like a reasonable price in comparison to the UK (€1.94) only to pass other fuel stops as we got further north selling as low as €1.62. You could always tell that there was cheap fuel ahead as cars were queuing out on to the main carriageway so we gave it a miss as we weren't quite desperate enough to sit for half an hour to maybe end up at an empty pump.We came over to France on Sunday. In the run-up to travel I’d been keeping an eye on prices on www.prix-carburants.gouv.fr, and been happy to see prices down as low as €1.78. When we got here though, lowest we could see was €1.96.
We knew a further government subsidy was kicking in from 1 Sept, and sure enough today the website is showing prices as low as €1.64, which is great. But why did the prices go up so much over the last week or so? It’s almost as though there was a hiatus when the previous government subsidy lapsed?
(And guess who had to buy some diesel yesterday?!)
Wondered why there were a load of Germans around la Loire
up to now the most we’ve paid is €1.87 but not filled up in Belgium or Germany yetWondered why there were a load of Germans around la Loire
