But every single airport I’ve flown to outside the UK ?Are so much better.

Ernesto has a good point, one I had not thought of, if parking was free, how many extra cars a day, they would not be in and out in 30 minutes, you would probably turn up, go into arrivals to meet your loved ones, a kiss and cuddle slow walk back, mean while no parking available for everyone else.

For me, I haven't got a problem with it. The passenger whose just arrived has flown on a jet thats fuelled by tax-free aviation fuel. As taxpayers, we subsidise airlines and the passenger has probably spent £100+ on their flight and if the airport didn't charge a premium rate, it would get abused by taxi drivers et al ...

Cheap air travel isn't a brilliant thing anymore ... and as a % of the total cost, the pick up cost is irrelevant. Make the airports add it to the airline ticket ..no one would notice

Well, if I were a foreign investor who came to Manchester. Had to pay £1 or €2, non returnable for a suitcase trolley. Get charged £4.50 for being collected by a car, to see the disgraceful state of our roads. Let alone the amount of rubbish on them.! That’s not forgetting the disgusting way you are treated by security and border force...

Probably turn back and look elsewhere in Europe.

To start with i'm not worried about charges and cost. My mate I am picking up will come into uk arrivals. He gets confused with instructions and if I ask him to meet me in arrivals pick up he could end up in another car park so to tell him to come out turn rt and walk up Ringway rd to the Airport Pub might have been easier. Taking advice on here ....I am assuming I can use the big open air car park for arrivals , outside terminal one and pay £4. 50? I've used that many times in past but not recently and hope its motorhome friendly.
