Not been on here for long, but the forums and articles that I've looked at so far have been very useful to us being first timers. Throughly enjoying motorhoming should of tried it years ago, but better late than never(y)

What a great post. Don't worry, you will soon see the wood from the trees. IMO members on here are a decent lot................ but you do get some crap posted  Some members will post misleading or wrong information but always with good intent. Some members have issues with guys like me as I am (and others) a fessed up FLT (Free Loading Tosser) (Wild Camping) and sooner or later you will come across the anti FLT brigade, then there is the gassing threads :)rofl:) and best of the bunch IMO Aire etiquette. In spite of all that, its a great Forum and members are quick to help each other especially in a crises. There are some serial posters too who , again IMO post utter nonsense in order to keep there score /status as high as possible. Oh Yea! One more thing, if your an England Rugby supporter, Jim will just love you to Bits. Welcome aboard.
You forgot the conspirythingytheorists……..:)

I am one of them know it alls. I know everything about nothing. :LOL::)

Worry not fellow Funsters, SUPERMIKE IS HERE, and knows absolutely EVERYTHING. :gum:

Particularly about the VeryOldFella, but I wont spill the beans without being given large amounts of cash, in brown envelopes. Sorry, no credit. :restmycase:

No response from me, 'cos yooooooooooooooooooou is just being very silly. :restmycase:

I was hoping that you were going to confirm my doctors diagnosis that I needed rest as I was two tents ................ boom boom.

I am a new member on the forum and trying to find my feet, its always best to keep a low profile I guess when you join and work out who is who, I am just wondering how YOU work out who knows what, it seems some people think they know a lot but don't and some who don't inadvertently say things that are really helpful. I guess just because someone has been a member for a long time no doubt have great experience but also some might be out of touch with reality e.g. modern ways of doing things and likewise new members who may some great knowledge, some may have chips on their shoulders, some problems that need help, how do YOU work out who is who and what method do you use?

I just want to be diplomatic and get the most out of the forum as I can, I will of course add any of my experiences if I feel I have any to help others, that I guess is how it should be.

GREAT forum by the way and well run!

Thanks,
Always try to be nice , a funster unwritten rule ! ?
It helps to gain friends and maybe influence peeps.?

Something I heard today:

"It's nice to be important but it's more important to be nice"

I bet there must be times when I come across as a know it all. Usually when abroad and get talking to novice motorhomers. Usually the ones who are paying 25 euros a night when I am paying 16 on ACSI.

HOW MUCH !!! 16 euros, I would expect a butler as well for that price abroad. :giggle: Most we paid was 8.80 euros including tourist tax last month in France. (y)

Yeah must own up to a couple of 8 pounders on this trip, but we are free on this one for a day or two so will bring the average down a bit.

I'm just thick & and post a load of dribble to keep my post count up, doing quite well so far. :ROFLMAO:

I heard that too, it was on Grand Designs where a caravan park owner had just built a new house on the land. Great quote.

Now I don't want to start a discussion on acsi, and for the money , the books are worth that, but when we had it four years ago we found we could negotiate the same terms without it, so havnt bothered since as we very rarely use sites anyway, but still use the old books for finding a site if do need one.

How do you guys know how many posts and likes you have got, nothing shows up on my phone which is all I use on here now.
Thought they must have been removed at the last revamp.

Somebody once said "I'm not young enough to know everything".

I always thought that rang true and in many aspects of motorhoming it still does.

Not sure though now when it comes to mobiles, tablets, MIFI etc.....

Lodge park dear, lodge park! We watched the episode last night, his new home was bit OTT and not very practical IMV ... cost a bomb too!

Click on your Avata or look at your profile, or view on your phone in landscape. That's 3 ways there are more.
