flightradar24

Not hight that interests me... but the lack of speed.. not being a plane buff, but can anything actually fly that slow??
What about those gravity loss flights? Not sure how high they go but I think they go pretty much straight down so would that maybe show a low ground speed?

Not sure to be honest. Weather balloon probably sounds the best bet.

Well I know they can fly that slowly and DuxDeluxe Is a VERY VERY special Ducky Wucky.. BUT even he would implode at that altitude..😆😆😆
He’s a tough old bird 🤣🤣

If flying into the gulf stream it could be flying that slowly over the ground???

Out of interest, near York some years ago we watched as some gliders flew of the top of a hill and flew backwards. We were told it was possible because of the high windspeeds.

Nice paint job. :giggle:

As well as the Shorts Skyvan, we also have a Spit in Yank livery buzzing around over us. (y)

We have a local country fair going on near us, so I think that they both may in a holding pattern ready for their big entrance.

I know that U2s fly at that altitude and fly relatively slow but how slow I've no idea

I have always been plane crazy - or is that plain crazy?? - and spend too much time watching FR24. Have you found the communication balloons in Africa?

My latest addiction is the Missionary Bush Pilot on YouTube. The airstrips he lands on in Papua New Guinea are just mental!
I know someone with the boat but you would have to pay the fuel but it only holds 6,000 lts so not a problem eh 👍 😮

USAF RQ-4 Global Hawk out of Sigonella, Italy tonight has a different callsign VIVI11 rather than the usual FORTE 💪
(from Ameliairheart on twitter)

Google translate tells me ”Vivi” means “live” in Italian.

Wonder if this change in name is anything to do with todays despicable terrorism in Vinnytsia.

Using a sub fired missile to hit an office block is just batshit crazy. Probably Putins warped idea of revenge after the Ukrainian direct hit on a huge Russian ammo store.

Estonian and Slovak airforce planes flown out of Fairford this morning, training ?
Now a Belgian.

Looks like both Slovakian and Estonia Air Force had a presence at Fairford this weekend, along with a gazillion others

There's currently an RAF Boeing RC-135W Rivet Joint loitering due south of Crimea. Busy, busy.
Possibly trying to intercept traffic as the Russian fleet normally based at Sevastopol, Crimea reportedly scurries away to Novorossiysk, Russia (eastern Black Sea) due to rumours Ukraine might be receiving the 300km range ATACMS rounds for their HIMARS/M270 systems.

If true, ATACMS rounds for HIMARS/M270 would allow Ukraine to 'reach out and touch' any Russian vessels at Sevastopol.

Warzone article about the RQ-4D Phoenix and RQ-4B Global Hawk operations we’ve been seeing out of Sigonella, Italy over the last 6+ months

Ps VIVI11 has the Night Shift again over Black Sea tonight, while FORTE11 is nearly back at base

Going by the aircraft type, I am presuming this is refilling on the move and circling back to fight wild fires in Croatia.
