Finally Heading off to Spain

Went down well Jock, need a nap now.
Light weight, we're just off the terrace it's cold, but Shirley and Pauline were second in the quiz. Safe trip and don't spent too much on French fuel definitely cheaper over the Spanish side, but it is changing on a daily basis.

Nobody guessed the George Harrison song yet?

I bet there were only 2 teams in the quiz then

Heading the same route next week all being well, how was the pub food? "Whilst my guitar gentle weeps"?
Have a good trip.

We’ve got dogs booked in to collect AHC's, COVID pass, and API, done for Chunnel crossing. Heading off in the morning for Folkestone, for a pub stop, before picking AHC up and catching the train to France on Friday. It is a bit later than when we normally go, but health problems held things up. A pity everyone is on there way home now, we'll wave as we pass you on the way south.
Heading to Mar Menor first and going to the vets where Mousy and Ditcha got their dog passports at La Zenia. We'll move up to Benidorm then for a few weeks, and maybe a few places moving north, but then again, I have been known to change my mind
Bring some sunshine please

Not much different in France, Ponte de l-Arch €2.00

Quiet night at Pont De L’Arch after the boy racers left at 10pm. Up this morning to a wet start, got worse the further south we headed. Managed a fill up just past Chattes at our favourite cheap garage, €1.90 a litre, better than the €2.20 we’ve been seeing.

So ended up an hour passed our planned stop at Vivionne, to a place we have been before Roullete.
This time we walked into the village for a beer, no beer, no bar, no coffe shop, zilch, Nada, a proper dump. Close to the Aire is Pizza restaurant, so we thought we would give it a go. No luck there neither, closed and it’s Saturday!!! Okay so it’s going to be dining a La Dethleffs, with Thai fish cakes, potatoes wedges and peas. Should be in Spain tomorrow.065BAAAE-55F7-418A-AAED-2F87CA6C56DB.jpeg

Earlyq start on the road for 7am, passed Bordeaux but nothing but rain all the way, did I say I hate France, can’t wait to get out of it. Unfortunately the fuel we put in at Chatres was just not enough to get us in to Spain at Irun, it might have just made it but we would be risking it, so stopped and stuck €20 to get us to a cheaper fuel stop in Spain. Don’t like to give the Frogs more than I have to. Tolls for the bottom of the route A63 to Irun last bit if France, was €22.70 for the 5 short tolls they sneakily keep building. I think they must think they don’t want to make it obvious and put the toll cost up, they just build another Peage in between the existing ones. Someone needs to tell them it would just be better for the planet if they increased the toll instead of spending a fortune on tarmac concrete, cameras, electronic gates, etc. thick twats.

Okay got to Teruel as planned, no pictures it’s dark. We normally leave Pamplona on the N121 to Zaragoza to avoid the toll road AP15, but after last years duel with kami kazi 38 ton lorries that nearly tried to kill us twice, by just overtaking each other on our side of the road, I thought we’d give that a miss and pay the toll.
I’m glad we did there was only 2 tolls all the way to Zaragoza one a €5.95 and the second a €3.95, much better. So that’s all the tolls we’ve paid in Spain so far.
Just half filled with water here so we can have showers before bed, then up early ready for our last days travelling for a while. It will be strange leaving Teruel and bypassing Benidorm this year, our destination being 2 hours further on at Mar Menor.

Aren't all the motorways in Spain toll-free since last year?
No we have just paid 2x €2.30 tolls on the AP7 heading to Torrejeca

Nice run down from Teruel in torrential rain, just parked at La Zenia for Pets World. Weather cloudy and breezy here. Paid €5 to use AP7 which runs down to Torrejeca.

A whole lot cheaper than French tolls though. When driving up to Benidorm from Santa Pola I always came off the A70 at El Campello on to the N332, tight fisted git that I am.

BTW you forgot your flag:rofl::rofl:
It was 20c over night last night (not 02c), I think I’ll suffer this a bit. Nobody would know what the flag was down here.
