Fiat Professional 1st Service cost

Jim Schush i know you want a Fiat dealer but if you’re considering Brighouse, there is a reputable independent down the round from them called Calder Valley motorhomes. He has all of the diagnostics and is recognised so I’d suggest you call him and ask him if his garage stamp will be Fiat warranty recognised. My guess is it will be.
I recall him telling me that he takes on the Fiat Commercial’s work that they can’t do so I do believe that if they send him work that he’ll be decent for your needs.
Give him a bell and ask what his fees are for what you want?

Hi folks. We took our Fist in for the first service - late due to covid as it was parked up for the best part of a year. The guy was good and said vehicles that do low mileage should have oil and filter changes every year. There is a line in the handbook about it.
He said the engine is great as long as the oil is in a good state but sitting about without running and lots of low revs does loads of damage.
Given we want to keep ours for years, I am inclined to do it. I have mastered the art of spanner waving - years as an apprentice mechanic - so will do this extra servicing myself.
Oh us mechanical types do love a tinker about on a summer’s day.
😊

Sorry about the typos folks. Drunk in charge of a keyboard. I also went onto a tractor web site. Honest my lord.

We ended up having to have the EGR and mass flow sensor replaced. They needed calibrating and had to be taken to another garage with appropriate diagnostics and expertise. The whole experience costed us and the local garage a lot. Maybe Fiat have it stitched up and see it as a revenue provider? I am inclined to continue with the local garage but go to Fiat for diagnostics as soon as there is any hint of a warning light.

I went to a Fiat garage sometime ago the Receptionist tried to sell me a 1st service after 1 year I soon put her right !!

When I enquired at a Fiat Pro place the receptions said it would be about £500, when I when I said “eh?” She said that’s the usual reaction. I said I’d Leave it for now she laughed and said I wouldn't come here either.
