Fiat Professional 1st Service cost

Unfortunately there is a lot this rip off pricing going on around the country and it appears to be the luck of the draw if you have a decent dealer within reach.
Look at our costs in post #6, we are quite fortunate to have this dealer, they explain everything and do only what is necessary.

It would be worth a trip up to Hull to get this done.
After all its only to maintain my final years warranty. I will do all my own service work after this.

Just seen there's a branch in Lincoln. That's a bit nearer to me

Your handbooks should advise what needs doing. I've just paid £380 for a 24 month service at a Fiat dealer. According to my book a second year service is the first big service.

I had the first 30,000 service done yesterday at the Fiat Professional Dealer at Brighouse ( our van had covered almost 11,000). The total bill including VAT was £464.46, yes I could have got it done cheaper however it’s still under warranty and it now has a Fiat Professional stamp in the service book.

Just had the quote of £560.40 for a 2nd year service at my local Fiat Pro centre!!!
They want to do oil, fuel, pollen and air filter and brake fluid change - on a 3400 mile vehicle.
The oil is still clear.
I've asked them if Fiat recommend all this work.

My guess is no.
What the hell are these places up to ?

tiny bit of goodwill tolerance for a few months or so I doubt it goes much further than that
I can give an actual example here. In a previous MH, we had catastrophic engine damage a year out of warranty, due to water penetrating the famous leaking scuttle, then freezing in the timing belt enclosure. Fiat covered 90% of the £3000 to repair. Pretty good I thought.

When I took mine for the recall work to a Fiat Pro dealer, it didn’t inspire and confidence or loyalty tbh. They seemed geared to looking after working vans/trucks and weren’t interested in anything other than the £500 biannual service
If I stick to the manual I wouldnt need a service until the warranty expires at 2 years. So apart from a little goodwill, I can’t see the point.
Im thinking of heading back to our dealer - they do a lot of servicing of older vans and crucially, I trust them to do a good job. might even improve resale value if we ever had to sell ??

Amazes me that folk spend £50K + in many cases ++ then object to paying to look after them

I do see there is an argument about what do you get for the money , but what price peace of mind and no quibble warranty ?

I dont think people object to paying to look after their motorhomes. I think, rather like me they object to garages taking the P.

My latest quote form my local Motorhome dealer who is also Fiat Proessional was £360 for a short service inc MOT. A different Fiat Garage, also Fiat Professional quoted £265 for EXACTLY the same service. So I contacted the motorhome dealer and asked for an explanation of the difference and whether they would match the price, after all, both Fiat Professional workshops doing the same job with the same materials. The answer was, "Sorry, that's the best we can do" I will let you guess who gets my business in future.

Ours is due for the 1st 2 year service. It also has the extended warranty to 5 years. It was registered on April 26th and the service should be done within 30 days either side of that date. About 2 weeks ago I contacted the nearest fiat professional dealer who services motorhomes and enquired if they did a low mileage 2nd year service (11000 miles ) They replied it would only cost £220 inc vat. and explained there was no need to replace the air, fuel or pollen filter so the price was lower than the full service and it met the requirements for the extended warranty. I booked it in for the 2nd April.
Roll on to the start of this week with the recommended self isolation of over people over 70 we are 74, later changed to those with health problems I decided to contact Fiat Customer Services to see if would be ok the have it serviced outside the 30 day window as i thought the restrictions would only get worse for over 70s in the coming weeks. Their view was It would be ok to do this as it was exceptional circumstances with restrictions all over Europe. Also it was important to have the service book stamped to meet the warranty conditions. So it appears that whatever level of service is carried out on the 1st service and the book is stamped your warranty is ok. Its booked in for Friday 20th.

Had a reply from the garage and theyre insistent ALL the filters are required to comply with FIAT'S recommendations at 2 years.
Also if Ramsthom is correct that the service has to be done within 30 days around the anniversary, then I'm stuffed on those grounds if a warranty issue arose.
To be honest I was expecting a service light to notify me to get it serviced - that hasnt materialised.
 Not sure what to do now.

Contact Fiat customer services. I am sure he said its ok to have it serviced outside the 30 day window due to the exceptional virus disruption.

For a 2 year service I was quoted £375 +vat. (Not due until August.)

Our Fiat Ducato 150 bhp motorhome is coming up 2 years old and we have just covered 11,000 miles. I want to get the van serviced by an Authorised Fiat professional dealer in order to get the official stamp in the service book but also to ensure the software is bang up to date. I understand I can get a service done cheaper at an independent workshop however my choice on this occasion is I want a Fiat dealer to carry out the work.
My question is can anyone give me an indication how much you were charged for your first service. We have been in touch with our local dealer in Brighouse and they quoted £250 for basic service and then they quoted £499 for a 30,000 full service!
I found this confusing as all I want is the first service that’s required in the handbook.
The vehicle is a standard low profile van with no warranty issues to report.
Just been quoted £575 for first service 12000 miles at fiat professional garage broxburn is this the normal price for a service seems expensive to me. They also said at the 4 year service + timing belt change no matter what miles would be £1300

Our local Fiat garage do a low mileage service for around £280, I guess it depends on your mileage? Someone will be along shortly to tell you their local independent will do it for free and throw a free cup of coffee in and all Fiat garages are rip off merchants:giggle: The choice is yours, ask for the cost of a low mileage service then decide if you want to use them or go elsewhere..

Don't understand why anyone would use a main dealer at those prices. Its perfectly OK to use any garage provided they use fiat parts, thd stamp in the book is just as good as a main dealer's. I've used same family run garage now for many years so must have saved 1000s in that time. Also I trust this garage , any thing needs doing they do it.

Daughter has taken her new nissan to main dealer's 3 times and every time they have charged for work not done. I also don't trust a trainee possibly unsupervised working on my vehicle. Yes it has happened with disastrous results.

I paid £180 for my first service at Fiat Keswick (2 years ago). Quite a few combine the service with a visit to the C&CC Club site. I have always found them helpful. As a low mileage service its only essentially an oil change so much higher figures aren't justified.

You are quite entitled, as a customer to tell a Fiat garage just what you want them to do and ask them to quote accordingly. Last time I looked I don't recall seeing an annual (low mileage) service actually required but I can see merit in having an oil change if nothing else.

I have decided to do my own servicing now. Using the proper Selenia WR Forward 0W-30 oil and Fiat filter (from GGB in Bradford) cost me £75.84 for 6 litres and the filter.

When we had to have warranty done on our Fiat, we were sent to Stoneacre at Cleckheaton, they will do motorhomes. Ours is a Sunlight and 7.4 metres long, so don’t have to go to fiat professional in Brighouse. If your van can from Lowdhams, it was probably Stoneacre that did the pdf.

My 2 year service is due in July. By then I will have covered 10,000 miles and the 2 year Fiat motorhome warranty will expire. My neighbour is a trained mechanic and says he can do the job no problem, so it will go to him for a fraction of garage costs. I trust him more than any garage to do a good job. That said for anyone out there needing a service, Kwik Fit offer a full service online for £220 and specifically have a web page for Ducatos. They also say for Ducatos doing less mileage a 6000mile service is required but it is Kwik Fit!

I presume the Peugeot Boxers are very similar to above?

The first 2 year service consists of a not a lot more than oil and filters change. Some will say brake fluid but that can be tested to see how much water it contains and whether it needs changed. Some of the prices quoted are just ridiculous.

I was charged at £462 by Fiat professional in Bristol in 2018 for the first service at 2 years. I had a 3 year warranty.
I’ve not been back !
I dont think that they are used to motorhomes.
Thankfully i have now been put onto a Fiat car dealer who is used to Motorhomes so would be good if you can find one localish to you.

Same hear was quoted 380 + vat by fiat pro two weeks ago for first service at 2 years.
It didn’t go to them.

£299 1st service, Oil, oil air and pollen filters change, recall checks, inspection. TJ Vickers Fiat main dealer Telford. Fast polite efficient service.

Ducato same as yours 2 weeks ago about £560 incl the expensive £70 Petronas oil. Will go to Fiat Pro only for the first 5 years then off to an independent. At least the average yearly cost works out at £280 which helps to swallow the pain and the feeling of being ripped off.

Took my M H to FP Stoneacre in Doncaster, 2 year service £400 in 2018, 20 mls down the road it broke down the fuel pipe came of the fuel filter drowned the engine in diesel, I was not a happy bunny to say the least.

Wait till you get a fiat pro to do your cam belt at 5 years......

If you budget for around £400 then anything less will be a bonus. We have a Bailey (2017) and although motorhome is parked at Staplehurst, our nearest Peugeot service centre is at Canterbury but we drop it off at weekend and collect following weekend. Unfortunately they can’t MOT but do a health check which we use as a pre-MOT before getting habitation service and MOT at our motorhome dealership. Like yourself I wanted an annual history of main dealer service stamps.

Sensible chap. How much does everyone think a full service history will add to the sales value after 10 years??
