Ferry booked N+B Polch here we come

For anybody going to Polch you may be interested to learn that Travelworld are sending one of their sales team to look after us and make sure we get our towels on the seats in the tent before the Germans beat us to it.

Bloody hell, you don't expect Travelworld to get that right do you, the right towels will be issued but put on the wrong seats and in the wrong tent, plus when the towels break they will make a pigs ear of fixing them and what's more get the labour charge wrong.

As long as they have some beer tokens we can sort the rest out.

Our surprise forthcoming trip to Polch has caught me with a list of jobs to get done on the van and they all take longer as it's German wiring and different manufacturing techniques to get my head around in installing some bits in the van. Today I installed a Motorhome WIFI MIFI aerial on the roof for the Huawei MIFI unit and am well on the way with installing extractor fans for the fridge freezer.

With the sun Low in the sky I am worried my solar won't be adequate to charge the batteries so I am also going to fit a second battery bank powered by a Sterling B2B charger which I have and a master switch to enable the use of either battery bank.

I need a double mains socket under the floor for the CTEK charger and other mains charging and some Hella 12volt sockets in the hab area.

There are a few other bits and pieces but this is the main list plus the usual cleaning and stocking the van with food, booze, water and some clothes. Gas and fuel to do and am waiting for my Umwelte Plakette and Crit Air stickers.

It's a hard life!

I should say that it's not just Polch but 2 weeks holiday as well!

I agree there are some "shed looking" A class van about BUT I would have thought that the Arto was about the best looking A class around TBH, I love the sleek tandem axle models, I wouldn't have one but they look great and I think the proportions sit better than the big brother Flair.

I might have been a tad harsh but I'm not so sure about the 2020 concept..........

Well there is no sensible answer to that really.

Vic, do you ever love that feeling you get when driving past shop fronts and you catch a glimpse and a reflection of your van and think... Hmm, I must remind the N+B owners how bad their vans look....

err no, I thought not... talking of which I saw a van like yours down near Much Wenlock the other day, cheeky gits had turned it upside down and wrote "skip hire" on it....

N+B all the way and you know it....

I’m finding certain posts on this thread quite offensive :LOL:

Ha ha no Martin I don’t think a gathering like that is for me and Jo really cos we don’t do the entertainment thing and if you don’t do it I’m sure people would think we were miserable old farts:LOL:
But we are hopefully going to Polch some time next year.
You have a good time Mart and drive safely.(y)

Hi Brian

If you want to come and be a miserable old fart that's your prerogative but I would never suggest that of Jo;)

 We did the rallying thing Mart for many years but eventually decided it was not really for us and you can’t really go to a function like that and not join in ,we just decided we liked doing our own thing better, with no obligations to do this or that .But I’m sure many enjoy it :) Don’t get me wrong we would really like to visit the factory but I don’t think we would feel comfortable doing our own thing .Just our feeling.I could be wrong.

Hi Brian

You can visit the showroom anytime you wish as they have a stellplatz and of course the showroom will be open but I am not sure about factory visit/tours which I am sure you would find interesting(y)

Oh I knew I had seen the prototype for that monstrosity somewhere. View attachment 263239

You can't win Paul, N&B might be quality .............. but styled by Herr Brick.........:D

Beauty might be in the eyes of the beholder...... but a brick is a brick;)

My vans have style..............(y)

.....and I thought you were going to the factory to complain...........

Well I am getting on with my jobs and have now got the auxiliary battery bank installed and connected, the fridge fans are in and working as is the Motorhome WiFi MiFi aerial and the Huawei MiFi device and a voltmeter for each battery bank. The voltmeter on the CBE control panel is not working!

I am still waiting for the PCB board and electronics replacement box for the fridge, freezer, oven Tec tower which will probably come hopefully before the end of the coming week.

I hate the pip-squeak horn which is standard Fiat so have a pair of Hella Supertone horns to instal tomorrow. I would have thought N + B would have installed better!

I have a safe to instal if I have time and can find somewhere suitable and some Hella 12v sockets but need to take time to find a suitable location for these.

Are we making this a meet Martin.? Seems like a few of us going...

What the hell are they:eek::LOL::LOL:
Brian & Jo

In Germany they have cities which restrict access based on emissions like the London Zone. In France it is similar and the number and areas are growing. You buy stickers from each countries authorities based on your V5 information which determines your emissions standard. These are them viewable by the authorities by visual inspection or cameras. If you breach an area you are not allowed in you get fined.

My 2013 N + B is entitled to a Green sticker for Germany and a Yellow 2 sticker for France which is the same as my 2010 AutoTrail had.

Is this an N + B meet or a Fun meet. It'll be our first at either!
