Even more extra charges by Campsite

I shall be popping into Taunton later, and will park my car, which will cost me Ā£2 for the first hour, up to a maximum of Ā£5 for five hours.

Whilst I am in town I may need the loo, smelly nasty dirty things they are, 50p a pop

3 miles away I own a campsite, nice rural setting, we charge Ā£22 for 24 hours for two people, a Motorhome, an ā€˜Aā€™ framed car if brought, electric, free WiFi, gravelled hard standing, numerous grey and black disposal points and beautifully clean, heated toilet and shower facilities which are regularly checked by the site wardens.

In the event of an emergency, a fire for example we are expected under our site licence to know exactly who is staying on site including day visitors, which is why we insist we are notified, shouting out to Stevie Boy the Warden, as he rumbles by with his headphones on driving his tractor wonā€™t work. So heā€™ll stop and walk over with you to the office to make a note

ā€We have friends who live near hereā€œ
ā€Oooo thereā€™s lovely (Stevie Boy is Welsh you see) ā€œPicking you up and taking you to ā€˜theirsā€™ for dinner are theyā€ ā€œYouā€™ll be able to have a natter and a cwytchā€œ

ā€No, there coming hereā€
ā€œFair Dooā€™s there is a chargeā€
ā€charge? A CHARGE? How dare you, rip off Britain, this is why we go to France, your robbing bastards, Iā€™ll leave, Iā€™ll ruin you on Social Media, why should I pay you more than the Ā£22 I already paid for a Four Gold Pennant, Award winning site?

ā€Where are they going to park?ā€
ā€œIn your car park for a few hoursā€

ā€Where are they going to pee and poo ā€œ
ā€œIn your fully tiled, centrally heated toilet block that you or your wife check constantlyā€œ

ā€If they get pissed and taxi it home, where will they leave their car overnight? ( I know, I know NO oneā€™s friends would ever do that, but I live in the real world, not the fluffy imaginary one that resides in lots of peoples heads. Mates youā€™ve not seen for ages, added to a Sunny afternoon BBQ, Beer & Wine, are a recipe for a taxi booking)
ā€In your car parkā€

ā€œIf your mates piss off my guests, walking through pitches (as they know no different) or make a mess in the looā€™s, Who will deal with it?
ā€Well you will, your the Wardenā€

ā€œYes, your right, I am so here is what we will do:-

Iā€™ll put their names in the visitor book (legal)
Iā€™ll add their vehicle into our system so they can get into the site (Essential) (We have an ANPR Barrier in place for security)
When they arrive, Iā€™ll show them where to park, and Iā€˜ll wander over with them.

Youā€™ll explain about not crossing other peoples pitches and youā€™ll pay me Ā£2 a head for the inconvenience the parking and the use of the facilities, on the basis I donā€™t hear any more moaning or bleating, cos if I do, youā€™ll be parking on your friends drive tonight!

But why wouldnā€˜t you do that anywayšŸ¤·
To be honest all that sounds pretty fair for Ā£22 pn and Ā£2 for visiting guests isn't too bad either. Its a lot more reasonable than the Ā£35pn i was quoted without hook up the last time i attempted to go on a campsite which must have been around 2014/5 at loch lomond..

Could you get him to ship it, get it at the right price it would still be cheap.
Im not sure i haven't asked them, i think most couriers would want that on a pallet which makes it harder

I think we all have to realise like all business they had at least two lean years . But still had to keep the sites up to standard and on going cost.
lve only ever invited friends to visit me once on a camp. Site
I went over to the warden asked if it was ok armed with a couple bottles of wine it worked
I had this issue before regarding free parking in pub car parks I thought it was quite reasonable to pop in to the pub and have a drink or even a meal
sadly there were people on the website did not agree with me
