I have been reading with interest the posts regarding the new booking system on Euro tunnel and wondered if I’m reading it correctly or am I just tired. It seems to be saying that my reg is identified as a fiat ducato van and then asked if I am over 3.5 AGW you should contact the freight. Other posts seem to say that you just click motorhome and you don’ t need to do that. I saw someone had a response from Euro tunnel but says book without registration so if you book with type agian when you add fiat Ducato it comes up with the same message. I have attached the screen shot.
Can anyone shed any light on this as it seems rather odd. I completely understand the arguments for length but it seems a shame due to an automatic gear box I’m considered freight. My brothers a lorry driver and he’s told me horror stories so hope I don’t have to travel with the lorries - at least I have my own loo!!!!!
We're automatic too and we're not freight! Try this:
- Open a Eurotunnel Account. It's free.
- You get the option to save your vehicle, but you may not be able to as you said that your vehicle registration plate comes up as a van. Skip this option.
- Phone them up on 0844 335 3535 and tell them that you can't register your vehicle on your account. Your circumstances matched mine exactly, and they registered my moho, under its reg plate in two minutes.
