As Maz says, it’s perfectly ok and routinely done to pass titre test.Does anyone know if giving a second rabies jab within a few months is ok for dogs?

Well spotted ... I didn't pick up on that when I read the post! Unless of course he has and Irish PP himself, or another giving unlimited access into the Schengen zone.you are aware that since the beginning of last year Croatia is included in the Schengen zone? It used to be a handy country to retreat to for the 'Schengen shuffle', but not now.
Not a problem at all, had this done for our Bella with no effect at all on her, it is actually not a bad thing to do for a dog that's only had one jab as it probably gives more protection than just relying on their own immune system to build up sufficiently with just one.Does anyone know if giving a second rabies jab within a few months is ok for dogs?
latinmonique has not yet been back on here since posting their question, so I have no idea whether Croatia will be feasible for them or not.Well spotted ... Not surprised as many new posters (non-subscribers) do that, but at least if anyone else looks at this thread they'll realise that Croatia isn't a non-Schengen country anymore.latinmonique has not yet been back on here since posting their question, so I have no idea whether Croatia will be feasible for them or not.

That vet should have been removed from the map, as there was a report back in April that this vet would no longer issue Pet Passports. See post #303:De Bascule DierenartsenPraktijk

There are another couple of vets that need removing as well - Alexandra Gaumont and Stephan Peten. Both have been mentioned in posts as no longer issuing Pet Passports. Will see about removing it later today
we used Prada Clinic last April. 19 euros for health check and stamp and worming and stamp. English spoken but parking in area tricky on a Saturday when everyone home. We had to drive around the roads a bit so we were glad we were early.Thank you, everyone, this has been a very informative thread. I have now secured an appointment to get a pet passport at PetsWorld La Zenia, Spain, on 18/12 for my young Patterjack, Kinny. We will be travelling back via Burgos and will need tapeworm treatment there - any recommendations?
Make sure you get a three year rabies jab or you will have to get it done again in eu in less than a year.Thank you, everyone, this has been a very informative thread. Hi, re no 3 , has anyone had any problems with uk port of entry as the most obvious date of effectiveness will look like its not been reached. como sense often seems in short supplyHi clairecamper and welcome to the Fun!
In answer to your questions:
1. Yes, the booster must be given in an EU country.
2. Any EU vet can administer the rabies booster and record it in the PP.
3. Provided the rabies booster is given before the current one expires there is no 21 day waiting period.
If it's just a booster, the vet should enter the 'valid from' date as the day the booster was given - in which case the Pet Passport can be used straightaway. The AHC will prove continuity of vaccination.Hi, re no 3 , has anyone had any problems with uk port of entry as the most obvious date of effectiveness will look like its not been reached. como sense often seems in short supply
Thanks, i already have irish Pet passport with rabies valid until April but will be in Ireland Sth. over Christmas and might get it done there if I dont have to stay 21 days. so AHC wont apply. building on what you said it should be okIf it's just a booster, the vet should enter the 'valid from' date as the day the booster was given - in which case the Pet Passport can be used straightaway. If the vet has instead entered the 'valid from' date as 21 days after the booster was given (which they sometimes do because, although it is still a booster, it is the first entry in the Pet Passport), you just return to GB using the AHC instead.
Either way it is not a problem.

Tips on obtaining and using an EU Pet Passport
Now that more and more people are seeking to obtain an EU Pet Passport instead of being tied to Animal Health Certificates (AHCs), I thought I would put together this guide to hopefully clarify the process and avoid potential problems. It has turned out to be a lengthy post, so a mug of coffee...www.motorhomefun.co.uk

that is exactly what happened to us last week. Our new rabies jab has an effective date of the date of the jab.If you've already got a Pet Passport then the 'valid from' date is when the booster is given - there is no 21-day wait at all.
